Carlie and Matt both attended the University of New Mexico to pursue their degrees in business management. As luck would have it, their paths wouldn’t cross until the fall semester of 2018, Matt’s final semester in school. The couple ended up in the same Service Operations course. Their class did an airline simulation project and separated into groups of six. Carlie joined a group with a few friends from another class. One groupmate, Kyle, introduced Matt as someone who wanted to join the group, to which Carlie sassily responded “no!”
After flirting in class for a few weeks, while working with their group on the project, Matt asked Carlie on a date. Their love story began at Dessert Valley Brewing Company on the west side of Albuquerque (which sadly went out of business), and they became an official couple on November 21, 2018!
In the fall of 2023, Carlie and Matt took a trip to Italy and France. On an overcast morning in Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italia, the couple ventured to an outlook behind the Church of St. Margaret Antioch. While they were overlooking the waters below, Matt officially popped the question. In response, Carlie said, “Yes!”
Carlie and Matt are very excited to celebrate their wedding festivities with you. They look forward to seeing you on August 10, 2024, in Albuquerque as they embark on this new chapter of their love story!
