Growing up in the same church, you would have thought we would have said more than 2 words to each other, but aside from a kiss on the cheek, I (Carlie) gave him when we were toddlers, there was next to nothing in the way of communication. As we grew up and developed our relationship with Christ, we both enjoyed the season of singleness and the opportunities God placed in our path.

It definitely came as a surprise when I learned that this Toby was interested in pursuing marriage with me(?!?). Over the next several months, we met a couple times, as we waited patiently for the Lord's timing in proceeding. During the waiting, we both learned valuable lessons in trusting the Lord and waiting patiently for Him, because He really does know what is best! In His timing, we both separately reached a point when we knew this was the path He wanted for us. It was so worth the wait! What an honor and a joy to serve our Creator, together, for as long as He gives us breath!
