Our Wedding

We met during the pandemic when really the only way to date was online dating. Cautiously agreeing to meeting in-person, we both made our way to Memorial Park where Carly made it perfectly clear she would not be taking off her mask (and doesn't willy nilly give out her phone number until after meeting in person). We had a really nice walk around the park, all while only being able to see part of each other's faces. As we came to the end of our walk, Po remained the gentleman he always is and said he had a really nice time. We were starting to walk back to our cars when Carly turned around and yelled, "Do you want my number?" The rest is history and needless to say there were some following dates without face covering (including a round of disc golf where Po got caught on a date by some of his friends!). Over the next two years, we went on many adventures like backpacking near Yosemite, our first international trip to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris, and countless days spending our time enjoying the outdoors. When it came time that Po was ready to propose, he suggested a date night at one of our favorite restaurants, Riel. The mushroom empanadas are da' bomb! During dinner, Carly couldn't stop talking about the dog we were scheduled to meet the next day. (Turns out we adopted that dog and now are in love with Hopper!) Po was grateful for the distraction as he was sneaking texts to our friend Kyle who was setting up for photos at the next location. When we were done eating, Po suggested we go on a walk after having stuffed our bellies full. It was a colder night, so Carly asked the question why we couldn't simply walk it off in PetSmart. With Po's unusual insistence on a walk in the park, he subsequently drove us to Memorial park where it had all began. An intimate proposal under the string lights at the park was the perfect way to start our next chapter.

For everyone who hasn't lived in Houston, experience Texas the way you've always imagined. Cowboys, bull riding, and kids clinging off sheep. Also known as the Houston Rodeo! Tickets to the band/artist performing that night is included with the general admission tickets. Look on the website for more details. The best way to get there is take the MetroRail Red Line from downtown to NRG Park. Follow the crowd and you won't get lost.

If you have some time to drive out during the day, NASA has a cool tour of all things space! It is about a 45 minute drive from downtown Houston.

Metro rail can be taken to the zoo from downtown. The zoo is located in Hermann park, next to Rice University.
