Although if we’re talking technical, Carly and Casey met when Casey made friends with Carly’s eldest brother when Casey was a freshman in high school. Having been to Carly’s house then, Casey claims to remember Carly when they were both younger but Carly insists that he does not. Surely ten year old Carly was embarrassing so she protests any recognition of her younger self. However, seven years ago, Carly became close friends with Casey’s youngest sister Maddie in high school. Having spent so much time over at each others houses, it was inevitable that Carly and Casey would meet again and talk to each other from time to time but never saw each other in a romantic way until December of 2022 when Casey started having feelings for Carly.

That year for Christmas Carly had created a big gift basket full of items that she knew the family would enjoy. Making sure to include items specifically tailored to each family members interest. It was then that Casey claims he started to have feelings for Carly. He noticed her kindness, her love for his family and the care she put into the gifts she gave each person. He hadn’t thought all the times they talked with each other or when he would join Carly and Maddie’s hang outs that she paid attention to or would remember what he said. Casey says that it was these realizations that made him want to spend more time with Carly, he wanted to be with her and he wanted to be the reason she smiled. One of his favorite features of her is her smile and her dimples. Casey made it a point to talk to Carly often after that, always smiled at her, and made jokes.

Soon after, Carly and Maddie were trying to attempt learning to crochet in Maddie’s living-room when Casey came home started to go up the stairs and stopped on a step when he saw them. He smiled at Carly and told them he would be right back. When he came back down, he had his guitar in tow and sat down on the opposite end of the couch and started to play. Carly noticed him looking at her and when she looked up he smiled and asked her what her favorite song was. Carly’s favorite song is ‘can’t help falling in love with you’ by Elvis Presley. When she told him this, he quickly looked up the chords on his phone and played the song, singing it to her with a wide smile. It was then that Carly started to have feelings for Casey. A few months went by before they officially became a couple, April 2nd 2023. The rest as they say, is history.

Carly and Casey have been inseparable since, they would tell you that they are each other best friend, confidant and loves of their lives. We are so excited to share this next chapter of their lives with you. See you all at the church!
