The story begins back in 2007. Carly’s brother, Cameron and David met playing for the high school baseball team. Dave was a Junior and Carly was in 8th grade. At this time, Carly was simply “Cam’s little sister” and Dave was just “Cam’s friend.”

Love is patient.

Fast forward a few years, Cam and Dave both graduate from College, move back home, and eventually moved in together where they remain roommates for 3 years. During this time, Carly was living in Tennessee where she met her Maid of Honor, Megan and bridesmaid Mckenzie. Carly came home as often as she could, and majority of that time was spent with her family, including Cam, which often meant Dave! These weekends at home sometimes even lead to Carly running into the grooms dad, Skip! Skip never missed the opportunity to encourage a romance between the now bride and groom. But both still had the initial thoughts of “that’s my brothers best friend” or “that’s my best friends sister.”

Love is kind.

Another year or so goes by and Carly finally makes the move back home in 2018. Cam and Dave are still roommates with the addition of groomsmen Hasten and Eric. (*Side note* Carly’s bridesmaid, Brittany is engaged to Hasten) Any ways, as the two start spending more and more time together, sparks begin to fly. After a few “dates” at the dog park with their furry companions Doak and Sutton, it wasn’t long until they made things official. Spending many days on the boat, rooting for FSU and Tennessee (& whoever was playing against the gators), and enjoying every minute with Grady.

December 6, 2020- Dave took Carly back to where it all began. Lakeside Park in North Palm. As they were walking the path to the park, Dave turns and points to a new park bench with flowers, champagne, and a new plaque that reads..

“Love is patient. Love is kind. Love never fails. David and Carly 2020”

With Grady by his side, Dave got down on one knee and asked Carly to marry him.
