Our Wedding

Carly and Evan have known each other for as long as they can remember. Their families attended Community Bible Church in Vallejo, where they grew up seeing each other weekly through Sunday services, youth groups, and other church ministries. Their connection ran even deeper through their families—Carly’s mother and Evan’s mother became best friends, and Carly and Evan’s younger sister, Maddie, became best friends as well. Although both families eventually moved away from CBC, their relationships remained strong. Over the years, Carly and Evan continued to see each other through family vacations, summer camps, holidays, and special events. What began as a lifelong friendship and years of memories together gradually grew into something more. Then, in 2024, everything changed at the Herrington wedding, where they began to see each other in a new light

Our Story

Their story began in November 2024 at the Herrington wedding, where Carly first noticed Evan. As partners in his sister’s wedding, they had the privilege of serving together and supporting her on her special day. What stood out most to Carly was Evan’s love for the Lord, which was evident in the way he cared for and served his family and friends throughout the celebration. Nearly a year later, in October 2025, Evan reached out to Carly and asked if she would like to go on a date. Carly was thrilled. She had been praying for the Lord’s guidance, and she gratefully said yes. On October 4, 2025, Evan took Carly to the Oceanside Pier, where they grabbed coffee and enjoyed a walk on the pier. During that date, Evan shared his intention to pursue a relationship with the purpose of marriage, and that’s when he asked Carly if she would like to begin dating. She happily agreed! Over the next five months, the Lord helped Carly and Evan navigate a long-distance relationship. They grew in their love for the Lord and in one another. Then, in March 2026, Evan proposed and asked Carly to marry him, and she joyfully said yes!

Evan noticed Carly at his sister’s wedding. Whether by careful planning or God’s gracious providence, they were paired together at the wedding party. As they spent time together during the rehearsal and throughout the celebration, Evan quickly admired Carly’s genuine kindness and loving heart. He left the wedding with a growing admiration for her. In the weeks that followed, Evan prayerfully considered whether to pursue a relationship with Carly. After seeking wisdom and encouragement from trusted friends and family—including Carly’s brother—he felt confident asking her on their first date. That simple "yes" marked the beginning of a relationship built through faith in Christ, friendship, and a shared desire to honor the Lord.

After many years of friendship and five months of faithfully pursuing a long-distance relationship, Evan asked Carly to marry him on March 7, 2026, at Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma. Carly joyfully said yes! As they prepare for marriage, they look forward to building a life centered on Christ, seeking to glorify God together through their marriage, ministry, and every aspect of their lives.

To help distinguish our wedding party, we request that guests refrain from wearing navy blue and light grey, as these are the wedding party colors.
