Our Story

In the world of dating apps, Nick and Carly found each other on Bumble. They quickly discovered that their mutual affection for their dogs was just the beginning of a deeper connection. Their conversations flowed easily, filled with laughter and GIFs.

As they planned their first date, they quickly realized that they lived in the same apartment building, yet their paths had never crossed. It was a twist of fate that only added to the excitement. Their first date took place at I/O Arcade Bar in downtown Madison. They spent the evening laughing and enjoying each other’s company. However, Carly lost every game except one: Pac-Man. It was in that moment that Nick knew this would be something special. In the following weeks, they saw each other frequently. From the dog park to dinner dates at home to disc golfing, they only grew closer. On September 26th 2022, Nick finally worked up the courage to ask Carly to be his girlfriend. It wasn’t until a week later that Carly realized what she had agreed to (to be fair - Nick’s wording was pretty terrible).

From then on, they became pretty inseparable and spent most nights cooking dinner together. Since then, they have enjoyed being outdoors, going to Carly’s family cabin, skiing out west, traveling, and annual trips to Lambeau to cheer on the Packers (despite Nick growing up in a Bears household). By June 2023, they took a significant step and moved in together, establishing their first home as a family of four—dogs included. Six months later, Nick planned a special day at one of their favorite dog parks.

On an overcast morning in the middle of December, he knelt down and proposed to Carly. To which - she of course said yes while Nick’s mom and brother were hiding the woods with strict directions to take photos and “wrangle dogs.” Only one of which was successful. Afterward, Nick had another surprise planned. Carly’s parents were in Madison for a celebratory brunch. (Though Carly knew something was up when her parents wouldn’t answer her phone calls). Since then, Carly and Nick have continued growing their life together and even purchased their first home. Over the last few months, they’ve spent their time starting more projects than they can finish and are now “expert” landscapers. They look forward to tying the knot this summer and can’t wait to celebrate with you all.
