RJ and Carly met in January 2018 the old fashioned way....by swiping on Tinder. Well actually, RJ swiped up which meant Super Liking and Carly swiped right.
After an awesome first date at Brother Jimmy's in White Plains, the night ended in the most awkward way possible, with Carly going in for a hug and RJ went in for a kiss. It just solidified how awkward Carly can be and how easily a moment is ruined.
There was so much in common between the two of them, that after Carly apologized over and over again for being super awkward at the end of their amazing first date, she was shocked that RJ asked her out on a second one.
That second date turned into a third, then a fourth and then, the rest is history!
One weekend in March, RJ told Carly that he planned a weekend get away just the 2 of us. Carly was so excited but extremely stressed out as RJ didn't tell her where they were going, what specifically to pack, or what to expect.
He picked her up after school and drove to Bozrah, CT. If you have no idea where that is, we don't either. It's up near Mohegan Sun.
Carly was shocked at the AirBnb he booked. A hot tub, game room, huge yard with a fire pit and an indoor pool. What a weekend!
Slowly, friends started to show up. By the time it was Saturday afternoon, the quiet weekend getaway that Carly was expecting turned into a party of almost 20 of our closest friends and family.
Carly's friend Tina brought a wonderful tequilla bottle pinata to the house, which Carly didn't think anything of because that was something that Tina would do!
Late Saturday afternoon, after everyone was getting ready to go out to Mohegan, we started the pinata. A couple of friends went, and then it was Carly's turn. The blindfold went on, she was lead nowhere near the pinata and looked like an idiot swinging at air. Once Carly's turn was over, she took the blindfold off and RJ was down on one knee. After all of the hysterical crying and constant nodding of her head, Carly said yes!
The quiet weekend turned into a huge celebration of Carly and RJ's engagement. It couldn't have happened without the help of our families and our best friends.
