Our Wedding

RJ and I met on May 7, 2021 when he decided to come watch me compete at a track meet. We had been introduced and talking over the phone for a couple weeks leading up to the track meet. It did not take long before he asked me to be his girlfriend on May 12, 2021.

During our first summer of dating, we went to the Big Country Bash in Iowa and enjoyed performances by Lee Brice, Jordan Davis, Jon Pardi, Brett Young, Eli Young Band, and more!

We spent the next three years of school apart while he worked on his master’s degree in Athletic Training at Augustana University in Sioux Falls. I was finishing up my undergraduate degree at USD and remaining in Vermillion for medical school.

The summer before I started medical school, we went on an AMAZING trip to Europe. We spent time in London, Paris, and Rome. We cannot wait to return to a point in life where we are able to travel again.

Finally in the summer of 2025, RJ moved to Vermillion putting an end to our distance. He is now working on his Doctor of Physical Therapy, and I am in clinical rotations.

We will both graduate in 2027. We are not sure where we will move after school, as I will have to go through a match process for residency placement. I plan to apply to dermatology programs. RJ aspires to work as a sports PT.

Our reception venue is conveniently connected to two hotels: Comfort Inn &amp; Suites and Hampton Inn. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at both locations for our guests. To receive our special group rate, simply mention the Haring/Achterberg Wedding when booking. Please note: The group rates expire about 1 month before the wedding!
