Lewis first laid eyes on Carly on the banks of the Mississippi River in May of 2008; BBQ Fest to be exact, the celebrated country was Turkey. He would tell you he knew instantly that she was someone he needed to know. She would trust an introduction from a family friend; if he was a friend of Todd's he was at least a southern gentleman, and, as with all things she would remain skeptical.

Lewis, the romantic of this union can remember the outfit Carly wore the first time they formally hung out (a Lacoste inspired dress, black), the first time they held hands (Crosby, Stills and Nash, Live at the Garden) and their first shared plate of Cajun cuisine (boudin balls at the now closed Cayenne Moon).

Carly, ever practical, had more pedestrian and far less romantic activities in mind. Like kickball and mentoring preteens but it was through these shared, everyday experiences that both Carly and Lewis knew that their connection was deeper than friendship and that the values they each held were shared and important to the other.

We'll spare you the sappy in between parts but suffice to say that when Lewis proposed in Carly's home state of Texas, in the company of her three favorite people, on January 28th, 2014 she said, "yes" and now you get to throw down in the M-town and celebrate like it's your job come July 11th, 2015.
