Carly and Joel met on OkCupid. A hairstylist recently exclaimed to Carly that meeting her partner that way "so vintage!"

These two crazy kids went on five dates in the first week of knowing each other. In fact, finding a time when they were apart proved difficult for friends and family in the beginning of their courtship.

After meeting in 2017, and spending "a worrying amount" of time together for two years straight, the devastating global pandemic hit. In a very "on brand" move, Carly and Joel continued to spend all their time together. 'Ewwww, Gross Magazine' reported that the two lovebirds consider each other their best friend, according to a 2022 in-house, two-person survey.

Over the last almost five years, Carly and Joel continue to love and grow while finding the silliest, everyday things to belly laugh for hours over. Both of them share a love of laughing at the weirdness of life.

In Carly's free time, she performs improv comedy around Chicago. In Joel's free time, he can either be found deep in a book or lovingly heckling Carly at her shows. Then, showing off as the president of Carly's (figurative) fan club by reliving the greatest hits after each of her shows.

However, most nights can find Carly and Joel snuggling up with their two cats, Claudia and Toby, binging Survivor, RuPaul's Drag Race, Marvel movies, Amazing Race, and Love Island UK.

Carly and Joel hope you'll join them on their special, wild day at The Mohican's Treehouse Resort and Wedding Venue. They're looking forward to you being goofy, loving, and doing bits on bits into the wee hours of the night. They plan on sending out the best photos of everyone's laughing-so-hard-we-can't-breathe-faces our photographer can capture.
