Payton and Carlye first met in 2013 when Payton and his brother Kolbe (Skewbi) were performing a synchronized martial arts demonstration. Carlye was the judge....

Carlye knew they were both interesting and had an aura about them...

Towards the end of the demonstration Kolbe ripped his pants. She knew right then not to pick that one!!!

Being 2 states away Payton and Carlye rarely got a chance to talk to each other. However, every martial arts tournament they would make time to catch up and see how each other had been. From 2013 to 2017 that is all there was. Each tournament they would grow closer together and walk around the event catching up. There was a time that they spent almost 2 hours just walking back and forth at a convention center just talking - well Carlye mainly listening! They must have done 50 laps around that thing!

It wasn't until July 2017 in Houston, that things really got interesting. They were at the World Championship and Payton spotted Carlye right away! "Man Carlye looks really good today" Payton said as he leaned into his then roommate Justin. Little did he know Carlye's mom was standing next to them and overheard. "Bro her mom is right there!" It didn't matter to Payton, he was gonna go talk to her first chance he got!

See, Payton had moved to KC to take a job right after college. It was a good opportunity and, most of all, Carlye lived there! He was living with Justin in his 1 bedroom apartment and already tried to take Carlye out to a movie. She had a boyfriend at the time. Despite living there, Payton never got to see Carlye those first 2 months!

But in Houston things were different. Payton was there on a work trip and spent the entire time working the register at the pro-shop. Carlye was now on the chase. She would come up and stand next to him to watch him work and talk to him in-between. Which for Carlye... that's like flashing a neon sign!! Carlye would ask Payton to come hang out at night when they had free time, and just like Payton, he was going to make her work for it after the work he put in!

Finally on the LAST DAY, he caved. They really hung out that night at the pool, because Carlye knew that is something Payton would love to do, even though she HATES getting in the pool!

From that day things really took off! Payton was the rebound guy and he loved it! Shortly after, Carlye would spend all of her time at Payton and Justin's new 2 bedroom apartment. They practically had a 3rd roommate. Quickly after their 1 year lease was up Carlye and Payton moved out and got their own place! They are still living there to this day! Lately they have really taken another big step! On the New Years Eve of 2023 Payton finally popped the question. FINALLY! Shortly after in February of 2023 they starting running a new Tiger-Rock Martial Arts location together! They plan to make this their life's work just like Payton's parents do! Their love for each other really rubs off on the business and everyone that is lucky enough to be in their lives. The business grew fast because of it, and the people there to support them have been amazing. They were even able to leave their business for 2 weeks to go on a vacation that Carlye's parents invited them on. The Delancy family, Beth (brides maid), Connor (brides man), Tabitha, and some of Justin's staff were able to step in and run the business so it didn't miss a beat.

They are so clearly loved and endeared by the people in their lives. It is really true that love prevails. They are better together than they ever were apart! They are about to make it eternal like it was always meant to be. I think everyone knew, even back in 2013!
