Our Wedding

In the words of the great 21st century poet, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, we found love in a hopeless place. That hopeless place was NFL Twitter, where two team writers first started their flirtation. Dave, with the Dallas Cowboys. Carmen, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It all converged over a six-person steak dinner at Bern's in Tampa thanks to one Kelsey Charles (now Flanigan) not being able to make the trip and leaving a spot open on the reservation. Thanks, Kels. It would take a year before Carmen realized Dave liked her. Idiot. And while Dave revealed his feelings first, Carmen is the one that surprised Dave with a screenshot of her boarding pass to LA the next day while he was live on national television in only his third day on Speak on FS1. That was fun. Big shout out to Carmen's cousin, Maria, who funded the last-minute surprise :) The Buffalo Bills played the Los Angeles Rams in the season opener the night she flew in. I'm sure Dave remembers the score and at least one specific Josh Allen throw from that game. Nerd. While our relationship goes beyond football now, it continues to revolve entirely around it. All major milestones have happened around Week 1 of the football season, from that fateful meeting at Berns, to moving in together, to getting engaged and even buying a home. We're breaking the Week 1 cycle for our wedding. We aren't actual robots. Plus, we want our friends to be able to come. But the happily ever after to this story now starts May 29, 2026 in Rome, Italy.

May 28 There will be a welcome party in place of a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding on May 28 at 7pm in the neighborhood of Trastevere. Everyone attending the wedding is invited! Specific location will be sent to attendees closer to the date. Dress code: dressy casual May 29 6pm - Ceremony at San Pietro di Montorio in Trastevere 7:30pm - Aperitivo/cocktail hour at Villa Piccolomini 9pm - Dinner at Villa Piccolomini 10pm-1:30am - After party at Villa Piccolomini May 30 Come as you are brunch Time and location coming soon Please RSVP for both the Welcome Party and Wedding Day in the RSVP tab by March 29, 2026.

AirBnB or VRBO are other great options if you are traveling with multiple families or just want something bigger than a hotel room. There are plenty of options around Le Meridien Visconti, located in the Prati neighborhood of Rome. This is also an ideal location to still be walking distance to the city center and most major tourist areas. Additionally, the church and welcome party are both in Trastevere, which is near Prati and also convenient to the city center. Both neighborhoods have plenty of rental apartment options as they are both more residential areas.

Beyond Rome

Carmen &amp; Dave would like to extend an invite to join them in Mykonos following the wedding weekend. To start their honeymoon, they will be in Mykonos from Sunday, May 31- Wednesday, June 3, before continuing onto other islands. If you'd like to join them and want specific travel information to Mykonos, such as hotels, flights and activities, text either Carmen or Dave.

Do as the Romans do!

You could spend an eternity exploring the Eternal City. There are so many sights to see and places to experience. Rome is home to historical landmarks like the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and of course, within Rome is Vatican City. There are plenty of tours that will take you to see these sights and if you need suggestions, don't hesitate to reach out to Carmen or her parents. We also encourage you to get to know more of the city by just exploring the various neighborhoods. Most of the wedding events will take place in or around the Trastevere neighborhood. We recommend popping in shops, restaurants and bars that catch your eye, you never know what you might stumble upon. There are also a ton of day trips or quick trips from Rome accessible by train. Italotreno will get you to Florence in a little over an hour by high-speed rail. It can get you to Milan in about three hours or Naples in about two. Siena and Pisa are close by bus or by train, as well. San Gimignano is another off-the-beaten path trip from Rome that will put you in the heart of medieval Tuscany, Italy's most famous wine region. We hope you take advantage of being in one of the most beautiful cities in the world by using it as a jumping off point for some of the other sights around Italy and even Europe.
