Travel Tips!

PASSPORTS:

All guests MUST have a valid passport to travel to Mexico! If you do not have one, or if yours has expired, please visit the US. Department of State website at: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

Before you leave home

Notify your debit/credit card company that you will be traveling to Mexico, and the dates you will be in that country. This will allow you to use your card while traveling without any concern of fraud or disruption of use.

While the peso is the currency of Mexico, it is not necessary to carry any with you. If you want to use Mexican pesos, it is best to change at the airport before leaving the US. They will give you a better rate than at a Mexican airport.

Take lots of $1 bills for resort staff tips. Although it is not required to tip, the service (and drinks) will be much better!

Packing tips:

Sunscreen with a high SPF, hat and sunglasses are a MUST in Mexico. Purchase your sunscreen before you leave, as the prices are much higher at the resort.

Bring mosquito repellent and comfortable walking shoes

Water shoes are recommended for swimming, snorkeling or kayaking on excursions.

If you wear contacts or glasses, be sure to pack extras.

Men – be sure to pack a nice pair of pants, a collared shirt, and a pair of closed-toe shoes. Select restaurants at the resort have this dress code requirement.

Finally, you ARE going to a foreign country and there will be lots of celebrating to be done, so don't leave home without your Tums, Imodium and Tylenol.

Flight tips:

Buy your plane tickets early! The longer you wait the higher prices will climb.

To lessen the chances of delays and cancellations book an early morning flight.

If you experience a delay or cancellation, call the airlines reservation center instead of going to the counter to rebook your flight. This will give you a better pick of available flights and you will

not have to wait in line.

Be sure to place important documents such as your passport, drivers license, airline tickets, ground transportation confirmation, and hotel confirmation & contact number, in your carry on bag and have it easily accessible at all times.

Put prescription medicines in your carry-on bag, in case your checked luggage is delayed.

Make sure you have a pen in your carry-on bag to fill out custom forms on the plane before arriving in Cancun.
