Sean and Caroline first met at Bible study while attending Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. The intro question for the night was, “what is something you would invent to make life better?” Caroline, in typical fashion, answered with a very complex microbiology concept. That’s when Sean realized, “oh, she’s really smart.”

Sean later reached out to Caroline asking if she would want to join the Dungeons and Dragons campaign he was starting, to which she happily said, “yes.” Thus began a 2-year long campaign full of shenanigans (that were mostly not Caroline’s fault). During the campaign, Caroline would often reach out to Sean with a “few questions” about plot points or combat mechanisms. She would then send Sean a giant Google doc containing a minimum of 20 questions (and often more than 30), which he was kind enough to take the time to answer each of them because he found the fact that she cared so much endearing.

Eventually, Sean asked Caroline out on a date, and after getting dinner at BJ’s Brewhouse, they spent the evening talking and painting DnD minis at Stormcrow Games. After a while, they sat down and had “Session 0” to discuss the future of their relationship, which ended with them officially dating. Sean proposed to Caroline on 1/11/2025 using a “wish” scroll to ask her to marry him.
