In April of 2023, Caroline came across Matt’s profile on Hinge. She was intrigued by the athletic pictures, witty comments, and Taylor Swift song lyrics. Caroline sent Matt a message, and to be honest, they haven’t stopped talking since.

They went on their first date at a restaurant in Needham where they talked for hours and played soccer in the parking lot (Caroline won, obviously). Their third date featured a Costco hide-and-seek adventure which involved countless laughs and Matt winning the game by hiding behind a stack of mattresses. That night, Caroline asked Matt if he would watch her favorite movie, “The Notebook,” which featured a romantic scene involving the main male actor writing a love letter every day for a year to his soul mate. Matt could tell how much Caroline adored this storyline, and thus was born the sweet daily love letters that Matt handwrote to Caroline.

They spent their first summer together gallivanting around Boston, enjoying the scenery at multiple roof-top bars, and meeting each other’s friends and families. Matt officially moved in with Caroline in the Fall of 2023, though, he was already spending nearly every day and night with her since they met. Visiting Matt’s parents at Christmas time has become a staple event filled with winery trips and shopping at the Destiny USA mall. They’ve also spent cozy weekends in New Hampshire visiting Caroline’s parents where they’ve sat chatting in front of snugly fireplaces and enjoying family dinners.

In 2024, the couple went on a trip to Europe where they explored the culture, architecture, and delicious food of Budapest and Athens. Although they had now been on multiple trips with each other, Matt knew Caroline’s favorite place was still Boston, and more specifically the Esplanade.

On a windy day in November of 2024, Matt took Caroline on what she thought would be just another sweet and casual afternoon date, to a British tearoom. After tea, Matt suggested they take a walk along the Esplanade, to which Caroline eagerly agreed given this was her favorite spot. Matt lead Caroline out to one of the docks on the Charles River, handed her a love letter, and got down on one knee. Caroline was absolutely ecstatic, and the two drove to a surprise engagement party with their families at the same restaurant where they first met.

Their relationship has been full of joy, laughter, and above all else, adoration for each other. They are incredibly excited to spend forever together.
