Luke and Caroline got to know each other through church - arguably one of the best places to meet your significant other! Caroline started attending Peace Church the summer she began working there, and Luke's family has been at Peace for years. In fact, both of Luke's younger brothers (and now groomsmen!) were Caroline's youth group students, and she teaches Sunday school with his parents! Caroline and Luke both thought the other was cute, although neither of them had worked up the courage to admit it to the other. In August 2024, Luke's parents invited Caroline over for dinner. Sure, she was looking forward to spending time with everyone, but really, she was hoping to get to know Luke better. A couple weeks later, Caroline was talking with her shepherding elder and lamenting over the fact that there were barely any guys her age at Peace, and that the ones who were there didn't seem interested in her. Her shepherding elder responded, "...I wouldn't be too sure about that." Sure enough, Luke had been working behind the scenes to ask Caroline out on a date. They got Mexican food together, then ice cream (which Caroline spilled on her dress). A week later, on September 30, 2024, they went on their third date, after which Luke asked Caroline to officially be his girlfriend! On June 22, 2025, Luke proposed to Caroline. He took her to the lake where they went on a walk on their second date, and told her it was that moment that he knew she was the girl he was going to marry. They are so excited for their future together and to celebrate with everyone on May 15!

Downtown Cary has tons of great shops and restaurants - a perfect place to walk around! We recommend Downtown Cary Park and Fresh Local Ice Cream! Fun fact: Caroline's engagement ring and our wedding bands all came from Johnson's Jewelers in downtown Cary.

Our second date spot (and also very close to the lake where we got engaged)! This is a great place to go for a walk and enjoy nature! You can also rent kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats to use on the lake.

Fred G. Bond Metro Park

The State Farmers Market is a large, open-air market with lots of different vendors and local produce! The market is open all week. A great option for the Saturday morning after the wedding!

Caroline says Crema is the best coffee shop in Cary! They roast their coffee beans in-house. This is a great place to stop by in the morning for pre-wedding caffeine!
