It was the late fall of 2013 at Johns Hopkins University, JD was a senior on the football team and Caroline was a freshman on the basketball team. JD, a founding father of the infamous Goldfarb Gang student section, was attending a women’s basketball game. He got distracted from the game, pointing out Caroline as the prettiest girl at Hopkins to his former roommate and now groomsmen, Dan Wodicka.

They first met in December at the WaWa (football house) Christmas formal a month or so later and while JD thought there was some chemistry, he was not a major in the sciences. In January, with Caroline’s parents in town for one of her games and JD’s in town for the football banquet, they sat at adjacent tables for dinner at the Colonnade Hotel. JD let his parents know she was on the basketball team and Caroline let her parents know he was a senior on the football team who she may or may not have shared a kiss with.

During a February snowstorm in which classes were canceled, the football house hosted a party and with a dance party in 4A, they officially began their forever. They had one important thing in common. They were crazy about each other. The two would hangout almost every day during JD’s final semester making memories that would last a lifetime. That summer, Caroline flew out to California to see his hometown of Newport Beach and officially meet his parents.

Fast forward eight years later, an apartment in New York during the peak of the pandemic, a move across the river to Hoboken, and the most handsome puppy in the world named Clipper, JD proposed to the love of his life under the guise of “brunch with his friends” on a beautiful Saturday in June 2021. Both of their families (including Clipper) awaited to celebrate the moment with champagne and brunch back at their apartment followed by an amazing dinner by the water.

July 22, 2022 can’t come soon enough as the two start their happily ever after together as one with a wedding near JD’s hometown overlooking the ocean in Laguna Beach, California. They are very excited to bring all of their closest family and friends together to celebrate!
