It's Happening!

Almost two years later...it's happening!&nbsp;We got married on April 6th, 2020 in a teeny courthouse ceremony, but we're so excited to finally celebrate with everyone we love. We're still ironing out the details, so please check back often! Here's the plan so far: Friday, March 4th - Welcome Dinner: Welcome to Punta de Mita! We'll kick off the weekend with a pre-wedding dinner at El Rocio Restaurant starting at 5:30p. Attire is casual; the restaurant is on sand, so sandals/flip flops are great. Saturday, March 5th - Wedding: The main event - a small ceremony and&nbsp;reception at MINA Punta de Mita. We will finally get to wear our wedding outfits, and we'd love if you all dressed up with us too. This will be a full dinner and dance, complete with all the margaritas your heart could desire (and if you don't like margaritas,&nbsp;don't worry - lots of other drinks too :) Sunday, March 6th - Catamaran Cruise: We'll close out the weekend with an ocean cruise on a catamaran! More dancing, dinner and drinks await, as well as opportunities to jump off the upper deck and slide into the water on the boat’s slides. For this event, please wear your&nbsp;swim suit! Additionally, the catamaran charters from a port in the&nbsp;nearby town of&nbsp;La Cruz. We will be coordinating transportation for everyone. Please meet at the OXXO (location marked on the map we’ll be posting soon!) at 3:30pm so we can leave by 3:45 for the marina. We can't wait to see everyone! The Guest Accommodations Tab has more info on where to stay. Also, please RSVP by February 1st. You can head over to the "RSVP" tab on the website to let us know your plans. Please include which events you'll be in town for, if you can't make it for all of them. Last thing! To be sure we can all fully relax and enjoy our time together, we're asking that you please take a COVID test within 3 days of your arrival. It can be rapid or PCR, doesn't matter! This small step will help everyone be at ease for all the events of the weekend.

Tips for your Stay

COVID Testing

As of writing this, you need an antigen test within 1 day of return to the US, and a &nbsp;PCR test within 72 hrs for return to Canada.

The Abbott BinaxNow (as of&nbsp;writing this) is an acceptable at-home test for travel. We incorrectly previously said that the government-provided tests are this type; unfortunately they're not :( . However, you can find them at Walgreens/CVS and you can do your own testing with these kits through an appointment with the NAVICA app. The website Qured.com also offers travel tests that you can order and do yourself (with supervision via their web appointment) before you fly home.



If you'd prefer to use a service, the&nbsp;MEDBIO clinic&nbsp;on&nbsp;Ave El Anclote has testing, as does the Punta Mita Hospital (both locations will be marked on the map).

AGUA

The water is not typically&nbsp;potable out of the tap. All hotels in the area generally have bottled water available for their guests, but if for some reason this is not the case, please let us know and we will get you drinking water.

GROCERIES, SUPPLIES, ETC

Mercado Ollín and Pescadores are&nbsp;the local stops for groceries. Also,&nbsp;there is an OXXO (gas station store), and several road-side tiendas that have food and other basic grocery supplies.

Transportation in and around Punta de Mita

Punta de Mita is very walkable, so you will not need a car for any of the wedding events. If you'd like to venture further, there is a taxi stand&nbsp;on Avenida El Anclote.

Caroline's parents have owned a condo in El Anclote for 20 years! You can book these condos through AirBnB, VRBO, Home Away, etc. If you can't find any listed on those sites, please reach out to Caroline - some family friends have kindly reserved their condos for people in town for our wedding.

El Anclote Condominio

This is the Puerto Vallarta airport that you'll fly into (airport code PVR). It is ~45 minutes from Punta de Mita. Please let us know when you're flying in! We have several friends with cars who are willing to help us shuttle guests to/from the airport.&nbsp;

Otherwise, taxis are very easy to get as well. Taxis directly from the airport are ~$80 - $100. However, if you walk across the street from the airport, you can find a cab for ~$40 - $50.





The most cost-effective transportation method is the bus! It leaves from the bus stop next to the airport. It is ~$1&nbsp;to ride out to Punta de Mita, however, it will take you ~1 - 1.5 hours to get there.

Several friends of Caroline's family have stayed in Faro de Mita for years. These condos can be booked via AirBnB, VRBO, or Home Away.

If you're looking for a complete getaway, the Four Seasons is on a beautiful property right near the festivities. It is a little further than some other options.

If you want to book a surfing lesson, go on a snorkeling trip, or go whale watching, Tranquilo is the company to work through! All reservations can be made on the website.
