A six-minute drive from Dexter's Inn, Sunapee Harbor offers a beautiful view of Lake Sunapee. A few things to do down by the harbor include:
- The Sunapee Harbor River Walk: A scenic trail that leads from the harbor to the town's information center.
- The Sunapee Historical Museum: Open 1-4 Saturday and Sunday the museum talks about local history including steamboats and boating.
-The Wild Goose Country Store
-Fenton's Landing: A deli-style restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner, as well as a place for snacks, beer, and wine.
New London is the town Caroline grew up in. There are some neat little shops scattered throughout town. Her favorites are:
- Springledge Farm: Great for fresh produce, locally sourced food items, beautiful blooms, and other related items (both Caroline and her Maid of Honor worked here).
- Artisan's: A boutique curated towards fun and unique products. There are locally made gifts, jewelry, food, clothing, and the list goes on (Caroline worked here too).
-Go Lightly Consignment: Wormen's and men's clothing, shoes, accessories, and more. It's worth a stop for any clothing needs.
-Morgan Hill Bookstore: Who doesn't love a bookstore?
Though Oliver did not grow up in the area, he has visited often enough to have a few favorite restaurants:
-Peter Christian's Tavern: Oliver almost always orders the French onion soup and whatever meat pie is on offer.
-The Flying Goose Pub and Brewery: Along with having an extensive brewed-in-house beer menu, the pub offers food, has a full bar, and makes its own rootbeer. The shoestring onion rings are always a hit (even for Caroline who dislikes onions).
-The Refinery: Though not in New London proper, the Refinery is a BBQ-fusion-plus restaurant. What does that mean? It combines a New England take on BBQ, and traditional comfort foods, along with lighter and vegetarian/vegan-friendly options.
Tucker's: Only open 7AM-2PM Tucker's is a great spot for hearty and locally sourced food. They also offer delicious smoothies.
Grounds: This is Caroline's go-to cafe when visiting.
