Caroline and John Michael first met in 2019 as freshmen at Troy University, where their love story began through Sigma Chi. John Michael, then a spring pledge, couldn’t help but notice Caroline—the Sigma Chi Sweetheart.

Though Caroline had promised herself she wouldn’t date in college, John Michael’s persistence and genuine heart slowly began to change her mind. Unsure if she was ready for this love at such a young age, her mother reminded her, “God’s timing is much greater than your own.”

After much prayer, Caroline finally agreed to go on a date with John Michael on May 6, 2019—and from that day forward, they have been inseparable.

Caroline and John Michael are the true definition of “opposites attract.” Caroline is loud, outgoing, and free-spirited while John Michael is more calm, reserved, and level-headed. But they fell in love over their shared values and bond of how they both grew up in big Catholic families.

On May 31, 2025, John Michael proposed at Lake Martin and Caroline joyfully said, “yes!” Now, they cannot wait to begin this next chapter—building a life together, having lots of children, and pursuing the Lord every step of the way.
