Our Wedding

How We Met

Caroline & Daniel first met at Porky’s Pizza in 2021 at a surprise double date! They bonded over their fondness for craft beers and even Stella approved from day 1!

The Move to SD

Daniel, Caroline & Stella packed up their cars & moved down to San Diego back in 2022. Once there, Daniel taught Caroline to surf & even Stella became a sea dog! Daxter joined their family in 2023 & both dogs are very excited for their parents to get married!

Beach Trips

Caroline & Daniel have spent many holidays, anniversaries & weekends at the beach! When living in the Bay Area, they took day trips to Half Moon bay, birthday trips to Santa Cruz and Cayucos & even a few trips to the islands of Hawaii & Mexico!

The Proposal

On June 28th, 2024, Daniel & Caroline took the dogs for a walk… there, he asked her to marry him! Daniel planned for both parents to be there & even got Caroline’s sisters to visit for an added surprise!

San Diego Airport is the closest airport to Carlsbad. About a 30 minute drive to the Windmill. Renting a car is very easy, but Ubers/Lyfts are also readily available throughout San Diego/Carlsbad.

We have a room block at this hotel and the ceremony/reception will take place next door! Pet friendly. Tamarack is a beautiful beach where you can spend the day on the sand, surfing, or wading in the water!

Learn more about the history of surfing, see how boards are made and even see Bethany Hamiltons board (with the huge shark bite!!). Open daily from 10am - 4pm.

California Surf Museum

Visit Seaworld to see Sea Lions, Dolphins, Killer Whales! Ride the coasters and cool off on the water rides!

SeaWorld San Diego

Amusement park with mini golf, arcade, rollercoasters, restaurants and more, on the beach! Great for kids &amp; adults!

There are so many restaurants and bars in San Diego/Carlsbad (and pretty much all of them are wonderful) but here are some of our favorites!

Food:

Board &amp; Brew - Carlsbad Village:201 Oak Ave, Carlsbad, CA 92008 A SD staple! Huge sandwiches &amp; beer. Take it to go &amp; eat at the beach. (Usually a long line at lunch time, but moves quickly).

Windmill Food Hall:890 Palomar Airport Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92011 (Right next to the wedding venue). Large food hall with tons of different options (Sushi burritos, Mexican, Noodles, Chicken, and more!).

Colima's Mexican Restaurant:308 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054 HUGE breakfast burritos. Take it to-go and walk the beach!

Breweries:

Pure Project - Carlsbad:2825 State St, Carlsbad, CA 92008 Great beer, kid &amp; dog friendly, indoor/outdoor seating (No food available for purchase so bring your own from a nearby restaurant).

Karl Strauss Brewing Company:5801 Armada Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008 Large beer selection + delicious food options. Indoor and Outdoor seating options. Kid &amp; dog friendly.

Duck Foot Brewing Leucadia:978 N Coast Hwy 101, Ste 2051, Encinitas, CA 92024 (About a 10 minute drive south from the venue). Great beer (focused on lower gluten content) in downtown Encinitas. No food for purchase so be sure to bring your own!

Stone Brewing World Bistro &amp; Gardens - Liberty Station:2816 Historic Decatur Rd, Ste 116, San Diego, CA 92106 Located in Liberty Station (about 30 minutes from the venue, and 5 minutes from the Airport). One of our personal favorites! Daniel and Caroline visit this brewery often. Lots of food options, large indoor and outdoor seating area.
