Since I'm writing this story (Caroline), this will be my own biased tale of how Mike &amp; I came to be 😊! 	Our mutual friend, Lucas Barnhill, set us up on a date in February 2021, a date neither of us really wanted to go on and only went because Lucas kept pushing us to. I showed up to the date on time and looking cute 😊. Mike on the other hand......showed up 20 minutes late and in a stained white t shirt....? At the end of this date, he walked me to my car and according to him, I gave him a very awkward side hug 😂. 	I'm not very good at hiding my feelings because Mike immediately knew I was not interested. But he apparently paid attention to what I was saying because for the 2nd date, he invited me to my favorite restaurant in Nashville, Saint Anejo. A free meal to my favorite restaurant, I can't say no to that right?! 	The 2nd date went much better and he quote said at the end: "I would love to continue this conversation with you over some wine, I happen to live right around the corner actually!" So, a couple things with this- Mike did NOT live right around the corner (he had to order an uber) and there definitely was NO wine 🤦‍♀️. 	 When we got there, he pretended to look in the fridge and said "oh wow, my roommate must have drank it all!" We have spoken at length in the last few years about this and he admits there was 100% no wine at his place and this was a lie that clearly worked he says. He then proceeds to make me a "cocktail" with cheap vodka, stale soda, and I'm pretty sure in a red solo cup (although that last part may be embellished for the story). Now, with the two of us and our "fancy" cocktails, he shows me his balcony's view. That's where Mike goes for the first kiss and as cheesy as this sounds....it sadly and clearly worked on me 🙈! A few months later, Mike made it "official", aka he said something along the lines of "hey, fyi, I'm not seeing anyone else." Real romantic, right?! Obviously, based on how this started, there's lots more to this story but I will end it here and am happy to bore you with these stories in person! But these two first dates were too epic not to share!! We can't wait to celebrate with y'all for our wedding in May!

The Thayer Hotel

West of NYC in NJ. 1 hour and 15 minutes from West Point. *This is the recommended airport if you plan on getting a rental car and driving straight to West Point. This is west of the river &amp; NYC so you won't have to deal with NYC traffic. *Easiest travel option if going straight to the Thayer

Newark Liberty International Airport

LaGuardia is in Queens and has several rental car or rideshare/cab options. It's about an hour and 15 minute drive from LGA to West Point. *This is the recommended option if you are wanting to check out NYC and not renting a car. *You can cab to Grand Central station and follow the directions of the Metro-North Railroad (shown below).

Approximately: 30 minutesAvis, Budget, Enterprise, and Hertz all have rental counters at Stewart Airport. There is also a Taxi/Limousine service at the ground transportation counter that charges approximately $40 for a car to West Point.&nbsp;

New York Stewart International Airport

Metro-North has rail service from Grand Central Station in mid-town Manhattan, up the east bank of the Hudson (West Point is located across the river on the west bank of the Hudson) . If you don’t have a car, get off at Peekskill where cabs are often waiting. You may want to call to reserve a Highland Falls or Peekskill cab. Driving time from Peekskill to West Point is approximately 20 minutes.
