Jenna is Caroline’s longest, bestest friend. The two of them met in college in their first year biology class- in fact, Jenna is the reason Caroline is a biologist at all! Jenna is a true ride or die, she’s been through it all: surviving grad school together, moves, weddings, concerts, good days, bad days, and everything in between. Jenna is the best friend you could ever ask for- even if her contact photo and name of Caroline in her phone is incredibly embarrassing.

Caroline and Samantha met for the first time during grad school interviews. A few months later, they both started at Harvard. After attending perhaps the most boring departmental retreat of all time, they had a conversation that changed it all, and have been best friends ever since. Samantha is the long lost emo best friend Caroline always looked for, tattoo wife for life. Even though Sam has the bug for travel, they always find each other no matter where Sam ends up.

Ainsley is Caroline’s much-taller-than-her little sister. She’s just as weird as Caroline, having slowly stolen her face and personality. Even though Caroline is 10 years older- they get along like two frogs in a pond.

Mary and Caroline are cousins and grew up together in Marblehead. Somehow they have stayed extremely close friends even though Caroline was…. a bit rough around the edges as a child (luckily, no one was strangled). From strawberry pies at Nana’s, to weird drawings from Caroline in AP biology, Mary has been there to always bring the laughter.

Jill and Caroline met in college, where they both lived in Gardiner house. Their fated meeting was in the laundry room, where Jill was wearing a band tee that Caroline also owned, and instantly bonded over that reptar TDWP merch. Jill is both the voice of reason and the life of the party, and she’s truly irreplaceable.

No one else could get Caroline to participate in a Taylor Swift dance battle in heels. Jenna and Caroline met 12 years ago at a family party (Jenna is married to Andrew’s cousin!) and now they live right down the street- a dangerous thing for both of them, as they now have permanent target buddies. Jenna is always down for an adventure: to a brewery, to the zoo, to the aquarium, to Laser Floyd and beyond.

You don’t really expect to make a new best friend after 30, but Laura and Caroline did just that. Both of them are surviving the postdoc experience together, and absolutely wouldn’t be sane without each other. Laura is always able to ground Caroline after a lab menty b- it’s the Aquarius in her. Caroline knew they’d be fast friends after meeting her for the first time on zoom, where they learned they were both former swimmers and absolute cat ladies, and the rest is history!

Tim and Andrew have truly been best friends since birth- even being born just a few days apart! While they’ve grown up from golf team to top golf, they have remained best friends. Andrew was one of the co-best men at Tim’s wedding and is so excited to have Tim be the same for him!

Mike and Andrew have been friends middle school. They have always been connected by the love of the same music, riding around in Mike’s Cadillac listening to Pink Floyd or an Irish Jig. They’ve stayed friends no matter where life has taken them- from late nights out in Boston to deep dish pizza in Chicago.

John and Andrew’s friendship started in middle school. They bonded over video games, playing poker, and eating Louie’s pizza in his basement. Although John lives across the country now, they still manage to meet up every week online to game together.

Aaron is Andrew’s cousin, and they’ve grown very close over the last 6 years. They’re both Union glaziers, beer connoisseurs, sports fans, and cat dads. Now, they live right down the street from each other and never miss a chance to hangout (despite having nearly no photographic evidence of these occurrences).

Evan and Andrew met in college after Evan transferred to UMass Amherst. Evan has become Andrew’s hunting partner, and that’s taken them from New England to Utah. From living on their couch (briefly) to buying his own house, Evan has been a part of Andrew and Caroline’s lives since the start of their relationship!

Kyle is Andrew’s older brother. They both share a love for fishing, and Andrew loves getting to go out on the boat during striper season. Andrew also loves getting to be an uncle to Kyle’s 3 wonderful kids.

Andrew and Sean have been friends since college. We all moved together to Boston, and shared an apartment for two years (where we got to see Sean meet his lovely wife Lily!). Sean and Andrew love to golf together or simply share a craft beer. Even though Sean moved a few states away, they’ll still catch up anytime Sean is in town, or talk on the phone when the Bruins are breaking our hearts once again.

Andrew and Dan have been friends since middle school, and eventually became roommates in their college apartment. Dan and Andrew used to love riding dirt bikes in New Hampshire, and Dan even helped build the cabin. Long car rides, long walks around New York, and long nights in college have fostered this long time friendship.

Alex is Caroline’s younger brother, and Andrew has been there to watch Alex grow up. Nowadays they can be seen having a beer and talking about cars, a long way from having a juice battle on the beach resulting in a great green head fly attack.
