Our Wedding

I met Caroline on a breezy October evening to get drinks at Sasha's Wine Bar in St. Louis in 2018. We had been talking for the past week on Hinge, the dating app. (Though she hates to admit she didn't return my message on Bumble, another app.) That night we met was the beginning of our journey. We joked about the neighborhood we were in and learned that we both lived nearby. Caroline already knew it, but as it turns out, we were next door neighbors. I was stunned, not just at us being neighbors, but also at the amazing woman I was getting to know in front of me. We continued to date and tried to explore St. Louis between our busy schedules as a medical student and physical therapy student.Our next chapter would begin in 2020 when I graduated medical school and moved to Chicago to begin my residency. Caroline still had another year of PT school and we would endeavor the strains of long distance. But this brought us even closer together as we looked for fun ways to keep in touch besides our nearly daily phone calls. One of our favorites was cooking a meal together across country on Zoom. It wouldn't be long until we could be reunited as Caroline left from her first job in Texas to join me here in Chicago to become staff at her dream job at Northwestern Hospital.The year 2022 brought us the most change as we moved into together in Chicago and began to gradually call this place home. Later in the year, I began to set forth the plan that would make 2022 so special. With the blessing of her friends and family we both visited one of our favorite places back home in St. Louis, the Botanical Gardens. We went to see the Christmas lights as a recreation of our third date, but to spruce things up I fell to one knee under the Christmas Tree and asked her the question. She of course said yes!We can't wait to celebrate with all of you as our loved ones and friends in our start to our lives together. It means the world to us to celebrate and cherish the moments with all of you and we look forward to 04/20/2024 every day.

David and I have been friends since high school and since then have gone through undergrad and medical school together. Often wanting to chill and talk about his fish or go on a fishing trip. He’s one reason for Caroline and I’d continued love of the outdoors. He's been a loyal and constant friend and I couldn't ask for a better best man.

Claire Bear is my cousin and fellow June Birthday buddy! I always wanted to be like my cool cousin Claire (and still do!).  Therefore, Claire and I have many similar hobbies including soccer, art, and hiking. When she would come to visit, I would count down the hours and minutes until her plane would land. I am so happy that Claire agreed to be my Maid of Honor. I couldn't imagine doing this without her by my side!

Tony is always on the latest trends and knows all the best food spots before anyone else. Tony and I met in undergrad and continued on to medical school. Since then we have become great friends who always have each others backs.

Laura is my lil' sista!  Ask anyone, we are almost polar opposites, and can butt heads sometimes.  Despite this, we have always been there for one another. We have so many memories of watching Spider Man or Iron Man, grabbing a Mr. Wizard's, or going to Disney Land together. Laura is the "life of the party" and I cannot wait to celebrate this special day with her!

Caroline is a fellow RK Kougar! RK thought it was a great idea to put the two Carolines next to each other in science class. Since then, we have kept in touch throughout undergrad, graduate school, and now we both live in Chicago! We have lots of memories together including going to Italy,  adventures to Nashville, and exploring the beer scene here in Chicago. Keep your eye out for her on the dance floor, Caroline has some moves!

Berk has been a friend since undergrad. Ever since he’s been by David, Tony and my side ready for an adventure, whether that be hitting up Forest Park or looking at the mirrors in Talayna’s.

Megan and I met Freshman year of college when we were put together as suitemates (suities)! Meg and I spent countless nights studying throughout PT school but managed to have some fun too. Whether it is 5 minutes of friend time, karaoke in Soulard, or a quick volleyball game, I always have fun with my friend Meg. Can't wait to celebrate with you!

Dan and I met in medical school where we both ended up going for neurology as a career. All that time he was a honorary member of the lion house crew.

Who would have known that we would be become good friends?! Emily and I first met when we were the only SLU students in a South African study abroad program. We had so many amazing experiences there including silent disco nights at Deco, meeting Desmond Tutu, and night hikes on Lion's Head! Emily has honestly been my rock and I do not know what I would do without her. Can't wait to dance the night away with you!

Arielle and I go way back to Freshman year.  The two of us became closer during our "hot girl" summer when we became roommates.  We had so much fun focusing on ourselves and sharing funny dating stories. Neither of us were looking for anyone serious, yet this is when I met Jon. Arielle is truly a genuine person and life of the party!

Emily and I earned our DPTs together! We studied hard together, but also would make sure to reward ourselves after a tough test week. Both of our competitive natures come through when we are together. Emily is always down for a good laugh and a good time!

Kinnari has been a friend of Jon’s since undergraduate. Since then she’s gone on to be a close friend with Caroline, even living with each other while Caroline was finishing up her clinicals for PT school.

Mahwish has been a long time college friend of Jon’s and now good friends with Caroline too! She had the honor of taking our photo the night of our engagement. She is always down for a good time and good food. We are so happy that she is part of our big day!

Abby and I met in Micah and were also suite-mates in college! We have many memories of exploring roofs, watching homeland, and studying the periodic table! Abby is one of the classiest women I know and our designated "friend mom."
