We met on a rainy night in 2018, both in our Freshman year at The University of South Carolina through a mutual friend, (Thank You Kylee Williams!), who needed a ride home from Five Points.
Caroline: I was included in the group receiving a ride home from Britton. When we first met, I asked for his snapchat, because I thought he was cute, beyond kind to pick us up, and an overall gentleman.
Britton: I thought she was so beautiful, outgoing, and funny the first time I drove her home.
After a little bit of back and forth snapchat messages for a year, and one more five points pick-up, the chatting ended.
Moving forward to November 2021, we rekindled the romance a super traditional way, through snapchat.
Caroline: I posted a snapchat story, to which Britton responded with a whopping 3 heart eye emojis.
Britton: I thought she looked amazing and wanted to reconnect.
After a little back and forth of talking, we had our first date in December of 2021 at the infamous Tin Roof in Columbia, SC.
One thing led to another, and we stayed up till the sun rose, at Caroline's apartment, bonding over shared music tastes, and showing each other new music.
Caroline: I told my friend Madelyn later that morning that 'this man was either going to be the man I married, or my biggest heartbreak'. I had never felt so at peace with someone before Britton.
On January 29th at Jake's Bar and Grill, we became official boyfriend and girlfriend after losing a game of pool together.
It was a few short months later that we both told each other I love you outside of Eddie's in Five Points.
Caroline: I said it first, and I was beyond nervous, but I had never felt so comfortable or felt as at home with someone as I do with Britton and I wanted to tell him as soon as I could.
Britton: I thought 'thank god' because I had been wanting to say it.
Moving forward to June 2022, both of us and our dog daughter, Clover, moved up to Boston with each other, and our roommate, Madelyn Kierce.
Now, after two blissful (minus the colder winters) years of living in Boston, and almost three years of dating, Britton proposed to Caroline in Edisto Beach, SC.
Caroline: I was overwhelmed with excitement and joy when Britton proposed. I am so grateful to call him my fiancé, and am even more excited to call him my husband. He takes care of my heart like no one else, and is beyond handsome while doing it.
Britton: I was anxious to ask Caroline to marry me, but excited and just ready for it to happen. I am lucky to call her my fiancée, and I can't wait to see her walk down the aisle.
We are both so beyond excited to be engaged and continue opening new chapters in our lives together. Thank you for reading if you have gotten this far. We cannot wait to party with y'all at the wedding!
