Travis and I met on May 31st, 2015. A few people met at what we call "The Morris Estate" before heading out to a bridal shower for Andrew & Katie. I remember walking downstairs and seeing Travis for the first time & immediately thinking, "wow, look at those muscles." Turns out, he was going to be a groomsman, and I was going to be a bridesmaid.

We became friends as we celebrated the new Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Morris. In the midst of all the wedding chaos, Travis had a calming wave about him that I couldn't help but gravitate towards. My dad must have noticed because he asked me in passing, "Caroline, what do you think about that fella, Travis? He seems like a clean cut guy." And I did what I normally do when, well, something isn't my idea - I brushed it off without a second thought. Yet, our friendship steadily grew as I spent most of that summer tucked away in Dickson, Tennessee. Avoiding all the upcoming responsibilities of senior year & then medical school, we spent the days canoeing the Buffalo River & the evenings watching drive-in movies.

I remember catching Trav gazing at me a few times, and I did my very best to look away from those deep blue eyes. I couldn't possibly be falling for a guy who my dad wanted to set me up with!

Three months later, Travis showed up at my door in Oxford, MS...

Fast forward to October 29, 2016 when Travis took me back to Table Top, Tennessee - the place we'd spent our first date together. We decided to run by before heading to Hannah's play. We were running late (my fault - punctuality is my New Years Resolution!) but Travis still insisted we go. We hiked up the mountain to our familiar spot. That's when Travis asked, "Mary Caroline Morris, will you please marry me?" Because in Travis's words, "Gentlemen always ask please!"

Come to find out, Hannah never had a play that weekend, but Travis knew it would get me to take the weekend off from studying for my medical school classes & travel up to Dickson, TN.

And the rest? The rest is history.
