Jake and Caroline’s story starts in the summer of 2021, when both of them by chance moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

Caroline moved for graduate school at Vanderbilt University and Jake moved to experience a new city post college. Once in Nashville, both Jake and Caroline went to many different churches around the city before finding a church home at Midtown Fellowship- 12 south location. The two had never met but were surely in the same sanctuary multiple times for the rest of the year.

Fast forward to May 2022, at a Nashville Soccer Club Match is the first time Jake and Caroline officially meet. It’s safe to say neither of us remember the result of that soccer match. Within the next couple of weeks, Jake had people telling him Caroline would be perfect for him (they were not wrong) and vice versa. The couple was around each other in groups chatting (mostly to each other) but hadn’t spent any time together alone. That’s when Caroline, being the bold woman she is called Jake, asking if he wanted to hang out. They went on the longest walk known to man that night, and by the end of it had a date selected for their first official date.

That first date, in relation to all first dates, was about the best it could’ve been. Jake couldn’t find parking, the first place he took Caroline to had an hour wait, and the his back up reservation was a pizza place (Caroline doesn’t really like pizza), but they did get Jenni’s ice cream. They did however have the best time.

From there, it just seemed like their lives naturally began to align. After dating through the fall and winter (yes we started cheering for each other’s football teams) it became abundantly clear to both of us where this was going. Jake started pushing a fall narrative for an engagement knowing there would be no way he could wait that long. On May 13th, 2023 Jake had everything in place. He had talked to the Parker family and received their blessing. He had talked to all of Caroline‘s friends to receive their blessings. Everything was in place, and the best part is Caroline had zero idea. So on that day in the Midtown Fellowship-12 South sanctuary that had essentially set them up, under the pretenses of Caroline's sister, Lindsay, having never seen the church. Jake got Caroline into the church and proposed. Following that proposal was a great party, which we are so thankful to our friends and family for being there to show us love and always supporting us.

We are excited for May 11, 2024 and to this day are still extremely thankful to all of our friends and family for what they have done for us and what is to come in the future.
