One weekend simply can't do Detroit justice, but we've put together some of our absolute favorite spots in D-town that you should definitely check out! Detroit is pretty walkable, but you can easily get an Uber, rent a city bike, or take the Q-Line all the way from downtown to Midtown.
We hope you enjoy your stay!
Madcap Coffee
Caroline's favorite coffee shop. Get yourself an oat milk latte and grab a seat outside to enjoy live music Saturdays in Parker Alley!
Avalon Bakery
A frequent haunt for Caroline & Aaron and a Detroit staple! The egg, bacon & avo breakfast sandwich with a side of breakfast potatoes is *chef's kiss*
Parc
Great spot for brunch right in the heart of Detroit. We'd suggest making a reservation as it's a popular spot!
La Lanterna
Easygoing spot for housemade pastas & Neapolitan-style pizzas. Ask for Larry the bartender and tell him Caroline sent you.
Olin
Great spot for dinner with even better cocktails. The paella is a must!
San Morello
Another great italian spot serving wood-fired pizza and handmade pastas located in the famous Shinola Hotel.
Leila
Caroline's personal favorite and another Detroit staple. Chic eatery serving Lebanese staples such as falafel, meat dishes & hummus, plus creative cocktails.
The Belt Alley
The Belt is a lively spot with many places to grab a drink. Try The Skip or Standby for craft cocktails & a thoughtful beer list.
Queens Bar
Laid back bar and a personal night-cap-favorite for Caroline.
Monarch Club
Great craft cocktail rooftop with the best views of the city! I would suggest making a reservation here.
The Brakeman
Craft beer, fried chicken and foosball? Yep.
Kamper's Rooftop Lounge
Cocktail bar sitting on the 14th floor of the historic and newly renovated Book Tower.
Atwater Brewery & Tap House
Want to make a pit stop before cocktail hour? Atwater is less than a 10 minute Uber ride from the church and a 10 minute ride to the reception.
The Detroit River Walk
Take a walk, rent a bike, or ride a scooter along the Detroit River. The path spans more than 3 miles and has great views of both Detroit and Canada.
Detroit Institute of Arts
Recently named the best art museum in the US, the DIA has one of the largest and most significant art collections in the country.
Motown Museum
Home of the original headquarters and music recording studio for Motown Records. Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Jackson 5, and so many more are some of the artists who recorded here.
Belle Isle Conservatory
The Belle Isle Conservatory is a greenhouse and a botanical garden located on Belle Isle, where our reception is located.
Comerica Park
The Tigers will be playing the Chicago White Sox at 6:40 PM on Friday, the 27th. Head to Tin Roof before for a pre-game brew. Eat 'em up!
