Although we don’t agree on how we reconnected or even remember when or where we originally met, we do agree that we have always been in each other’s lives. Being from a small town like Burke County, everyone knows everyone! Our families have been linked for years, with our parents going to school together, our siblings going to school together, and then us going to rival schools just a few minutes apart. We like to say that our friendship started in high school when we both swam for our respective school’s swim teams. We saw each other daily at practice, had many mutual friends, and shared a lot of the same experiences. We attended the same church camps from elementary school to high school. We celebrated senior week at Myrtle Beach just a few houses down from each other. Caroline watched (and rooted against) Tony in football games, baseball games, and swim meets for years. One of Caroline’s earliest memories with Tony is celebrating his surprise 16th birthday at his home with his friends and family. Although Tony claims he does not remember, Facebook memories from 2011 hold the proof. (Side note: we are still searching for photos of us together prior to dating if anyone has any!) We shared identical and intertwined childhoods our entire lives, but it wasn’t until years later that we reconnected and fell in love. Tony likes to say that we matched on Bumble and talked a few times months prior to our first date. Caroline remembers it differently, with Tony randomly snapchatting to hangout. Either way, our first “official date” was September 28th, 2021, and the rest was history. A date that means so much to us already, that we now get to share with our family and friends as our wedding day.
