"She's an internet woman."

When people ask Andy how he met Caroline, this is the response he loves to give — usually provoking an amusing reaction and setting the stage for a good retelling of their story. Caroline and Andy met on Hinge in October of 2020 during very strange and uncertain times. Andy was living in Los Angeles, but on a month-to-month visit back to Austin, weathering the early Covid-Era from an Air Bnb in Hyde Park. Both native Austinites who grew up ten minutes away from each other, Caroline and Andy matched on Hinge, texted a bit and then had a first date to play tennis together (a shared passion) at Caswell Tennis Center, which led to dinner and drinks on the patio at Hopfields afterwards. After months of dating, Andy decided to move back to Austin (without telling his boss) and the rest is history. Caroline later shared with Andy that he was right on the cusp of her Hinge distance filter, so it was a fateful and lucky choice of being in the right place at the right time. Over the nearly five years since then, the couple has shared countless more tennis matches, a move halfway across the country to Denver, many more destination beach trips, time with family and friends, fun and love.

A Caribbean Engagement 

Caroline and Andy have done a lot of traveling together, but definitely share a love for the beach and in particular, the Caribbean. On a second visit to the French side of St. Martin, Andy proposed to Caroline at the beautiful Grand Case Beach Club. After dinner one night early in the trip, Caroline suggested that they go on a beach stroll to walk off some of the heavily buttered French seafood they had just enjoyed. Andy, nervous and eager to make the proposal, decided this beautiful evening was the time, and that Caroline had tee'ed things up perfectly for him, perhaps with some level of intuition. Andy proposed on the point overlooking two beautiful bays with the warm Caribbean air and evening breeze surrounding them. Andy's mom, Karla, was a watercolor artist whose subject matter was primarily the Caribbean and Virgin Islands. In memory of his mom, her love for the Caribbean and the many childhood defining trips they made to the Caribbean as a family, Andy proposed to Caroline with his mom's engagement ring, which remains very special to the couple today.

Big Move to Denver

After the engagement in May of 2024, Andy received an offer to move to Denver, and the couple made the difficult choice of leaving their beloved hometown. It's been a year of change and definitely an adjustment, but C&amp;A have been enjoying "seasons", hiking, biking, skiing, mountains, concerts, dining, lack-of-humidity and cooler weather. I am so proud to call Shannon a friend and to have her as my Matron of Honor. We have known each other since middle school, were class officers together in high school, shared the joy of being Camp Longhorn girls and UT students.  After making it through high school and college together, we’ve stayed close through busy lives and cross country moves.

Nathan and I met working together at Once Over Coffee Bar in 2010, and shared a lot of formative experiences together.  Over the last fifteen years, we have developed a deep and loyal friendship, and I am honored for him to be my best man.
