Let’s start from the beginning. The first date…. It was March 2021. There was this thing called a “pandemic” going on which made it far from an optimal time to find a significant other. But Caroline caught Daniel’s eye and she, for some reason, said “yes” to a date. Boom...great start. He says to himself “I think we could possibly have a future here.” But there is a problem…everywhere was either closed or closing early. Daniel probably called a dozen places. No luck. He starts to get discouraged but finally find a restaurant that will stay open till 9. Problem solved and he says to himself “I think we have a future here.” So the date starts and things are going great. Daniel is wowed at the spunky cute blonde whose ambition, drive, and love for life shines through. Caroline finds Daniel handsome, charming, and humorous. When it comes time for Daniel to pay the tab…the waiter says “Sir, I’m sorry, but we only take cash tonight.” Daniel panicked. He only had a credit card and Caroline has to pay with cash. He thought for sure that he blew it. But luckily Caroline finds it hilarious and uses it as an excuse for another date. Daniel again says to himself “Alright we have a future here.” Now we wanted to start “Our Story” with our first date, because we believe it is microcosm of our entire relationship. It hasn’t always been perfect. Every time we find our footing, something comes along to knock us down again. There has been a lot of outside factors that built a less than ideal environment to grow a relationship: Covid, the stress of graduate school, demanding jobs, physical distance between us, and unfortunately the tragic loss of loved ones. But through all that we’ve become one. We have become strong. We have made each other better people. We are best friends. We have learned to love what's around us and appreciate what we have been blessed with. We have gotten through this crazy thing called “life” with support, love, family, friends, and Jesus. And when those inevitable tough times come at us again…we are ready. Because of what our past has made us since our first date. Because, presently, we are overwhelmed with all the beautiful blessings we have to cherish. And when it comes down to it, we can say without a doubt…“We have a future here.” So thank you for celebrating our forever with us. We love each other so much and we love you all.

Another area of Downtown Knoxville with plenty of nightlife. Also, the Knoxville Smokies new stadium will be finished this summer.

Historic Old City

An area of Knoxville that has been revitalized. Kern's Food Hall, breweries on Sevier Avenue, and Ijams Nature Center are all cool spots.
