We met back in 2016 when I was 16 and Josh was 18. We don't quite remember how we met but let's just say it wasn't exactly "love at first sight." Our paths didn't cross again until 2018 when we had mutual friends we were hanging out with at the Neshoba County Fair. I know you're probably waiting for "the spark" but again it didn't happen just yet. Josh claims that I looked at one of our friends and said "I don't like that dude" but I don't remember that! Fast forward to 2020, Josh tried to get my attention once every year by messaging me on facebook but for some reason I wouldn't give him the time of day. I know, I'm stupid!
Then, just like clockwork, Josh messaged me on Facebook and asked how I had been! And, you guessed it, I FINALLY responded. Now this time, when we saw each other, we instantly clicked. We shared personalities and humor and laughed the whole day. Our first date lasted for hours and I knew that I would be with him for the rest of my life. We've been inseparable ever since.
The day Josh asked me to marry him, I was clueless. I was under the impression that Josh had to work night shift and I was going to dinner with my mom and my sister. Everyone in our lives did such a good job of keeping this secret from me. It was truly one of the most special nights of my life. We both cried like babies and when I saw the tears in his eyes, I knew just how much he loved me.
