Our Wedding

Alec and Caroline's story began back in 2019 at Texas A&M University, where they first crossed paths among mutual friends. It wasn't until an anti-Valentine's party in 2020 that they really hit it off. Then, with the onset of the COVID pandemic, their dating life took a creative turn. They found themselves painting together, attending drive-in concerts, and riding a tandem bicycle around campus.   Caroline's love for the outdoors quickly rubbed off on Alec after a memorable camping trip to Big Bend National Park. Since then, they've explored numerous national and state parks together, enjoying their time in the wilderness. Their bond grew stronger through shared adventures and a mutual appreciation for nature's beauty.   After a year of dating, Caroline headed to Minnesota to work as a camp counselor for the summer. Alec couldn't bear to be apart from her and joined her a week later, signing up as a counselor at the boys' camp. Fast forward another year, Alec's first job after graduating led him to Phoenix. After enduring eight months of long-distance agony, Caroline made the move to join him in the desert! Together, they adopted an adorable dog named Finn and continue to embrace the wonders of the Southwest. Join us in celebrating our new home and adventures!

The state of Arizona has so much beauty to offer! We encourage you to use the weekend to travel and see something that has been on your bucket list! Short trips out of the valley can get you to a large variety of landscapes.

The Superstition MountainsLocated 40 miles east of Phoenix Metro.&nbsp;These mountains are famous for the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine legend, attracting treasure seekers and historians alike. Goldfield Ghost Town right next to the Superstitions, recreates a 19th-century mining town with preserved buildings and Old West attractions, offering a glimpse into Arizona's gold rush history.

SedonaLocated 2 hours north of Phoenix, this is an iconic stop in Arizona. The beautiful red rock scenery and endless hiking is a must see!

Payson, ArizonaOne of our favorites locations is on the Mogollan rim near Payson! Only a short drive out of the valley will put you standing at a cliff overlooking the most Ponderosa Pines in the world!

FlagstaffLocated about 3 hours North and the coolest weather of all the AZ towns. You might even find snow here still! If you like skiing, then this is the spot for you. The snow bowl ski resort was open till the end of May this past season!

Grand Canyon National Park About 3 and a half hours north of Phoenix, one of the natural wonders of the world. The views are truly breath taking!

TucsonLocated 2 hours South of Phoenix . We love the Mt. Lemmon scenic drive!

Page, ArizonaLake Powell, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend are all located here. It offers scenic beauty and outdoor activities like boating, hiking, and exploring slot canyons.

Joshua Tree National Park 3 hours West of Phoenix. You can see the famous Joshua Trees and rugged rock formations.

Explore Arizona

If you aren't wanting to make any trips out of the valley then no worries. There are still plenty of activities to do in the city!   Musical Instrument Museum - This is a unique museum dedicated to showcasing a vast collection of musical instruments from around the world. This museum can easily take up a whole day if you like music!   Golfing - Arizona offers tons of golf courses with picturesque desert landscapes and year-round sunshine!   Desert Botanical Garden - This garden features an extensive collection of desert plants from around the world! A must visit for all plant enthusiasts.   Hiking - There are plenty of good hikes to do in the Phoenix area. A few of our favorite trails are Piestewa Peak, Camelback Mountain, Tom's Thumb trail, Cave Creek trail, Papago Park, and fat man's loop. For more information on trails, the app AllTrails is a great resource!   Tubing the Salt River - A refreshing adventure where you can float along scenic desert landscapes, enjoying the cool waters and possibly get a sight of the numerous wild horses in the area.   Butterfly Wonderland - This is the largest Butterfly conservatory in America!
