A Must see it is only 30 minutes from the Venue. It is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world. It is part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany. Today it is one of only three towns in Germany that still have completely intact city walls.
Largest city in the region with gorgeous architecture, history, castle and shops.
The most famous castle in the world. I recommend buying tickets a couple months in advance they sell out
Only an hour from Neuschwanstein Castle. I recommend doing both. This one is smaller, less busy and in my opinion more impressive because it is completely decorated over the top.
Amazing hiking and mountaineering activities with picturesque villages. Some towns to consider are Garmisch-Partenkirschen, Zell am See, Innsbruck, and Mittenwald. Germany's highest peak is the Zugspitze but the Alpspitze also has amazing hikes.
Salzburg, Austria is not far and is the birthplace of Mozart.
Austria, Italy, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland
Site with around 100 original german buildings preserved in the various time periods, trades & crafts plus events including passion plays.
In the town Carolyn's family lives in. The charming town of Ansbach, Germany is home to one of the most unique festivals in Europe. None of the other events in Europe capture the graceful aesthetic of the Rococo period like Ansbach’s annual Rococo Festival – where people gather in historic dress to take part in exciting activities that hold a special appeal for history and culture lovers. Every year, around the first week of August, the streets and squares are filled with locals and tourists alike celebrating the historic Ansbach Rococo Festival.

Craftsmen demonstrate their skills in workshops throughout town while historical re-enactments bring to life stories from a bygone era.
