Jackson Square is the center of French quarter, live musicians, street artist, entertainers.
The best view of Jackson square is from across the street at Washington Artillery Park. Climb the stairs to see the Mississippi River with the Mississippi River bridge in the background. Turn around and you have the best picture worthy view of Jackson square with St. Louis Cathedral as your backdrop.

Cafe Du Monde on Decatur St. (across from Jackson square). Home of the original New Orleans Beignets (pronounced Ben-yayz). Don’t let the line sway you, it moves quickly and it is worth the wait. Our personal favorite is an order of beignets and a frozen Cafe Au Lait!
The French Market shopping. Originally a Native American trading post with the French. It is the Oldest market of its kind in the US and spans 6 blocks. Here you will find a little bit of everything for everyone. Local cuisine, snow-balls, daiquiris, pralines, local art, voodoo dolls, souvenirs and so much more!
Recently renovated and opened. Voted one of the top 5 aquariums! Also home to the new Audubon Insectarium with wonderful Butterfly gardens.
The National WWII Museum is located in the Warehouse district. The museum is on a six-acre campus, where 5 soaring pavilions house historical exhibits. Visitors are taken on a tour of every theater of the war, including a D-Day exhibit (The history of the Higgins Boat designed and built in New Orleans), Sherman and Stuart Tanks, aircraft’s and so much more. A must see for any history fan!
Mardi Gras World, located on the Port of the Mississippi River, is a museum dedicated to Mardi Gras. Visitors can tour the 300,000 Sq. Ft. working warehouse where floats are made for Mardi Gras.
The Garden District is home to ancient oak trees, the St. Charles Streetcar (the green one) line, stunning homes, Audubon Park , Loyola and Tulane Universities.
For some of the best views of St. Charles ride the St. Charles streetcar (green one). It takes you from the French Quarter to the Garden District. The St. Charles Streetcar line is the oldest continuous running streetcar in the whole world. A 24 hr pass is only $3. Pay cash or get the RTAGoMobile app. The streetcar runs every 10 minutes so you never have to wait too long.
