It was a very rainy night at Stonebridge in Milford, CT. Carolyn was in town for the weekend to celebrate her bestie, Meaghan Sollitto (who is also the MOH &amp; officiant), for her birthday. Little did she know who she would meet that humid, muggy, rainy night. The evening started as any weekend night did for two post-undergrads: early 2000's hip hop, gossiping about who knows what, and pregaming a night out. Meag was running through the list of people she invited out that night, and made note that "Beej is coming too!". Now, Carolyn had heard about the infamous "Beej" from her time at Siena College (where all three of them attended), but never actually met him while in school there. Carolyn didn't think much of it...Meaghan knows literally everyone, so it was no surprise she had an entourage of people coming out for her birthday. After waiting outside, in the rain, finally getting into the outdoor bar and having some drinks, she got to meet him. Meag introduced Carolyn to Brian, where they shook hands, made some awkward small talk, and stood around with Meag's other friends - nothing crazy. However, as corny as it sounds, Carolyn knew something was different (she knew it wasn't the drinks talking either). There was a point in the night where Carolyn asked Meag to tell Brian she thought he was cute, and suggest he should give her his number. Brian took the opportunity and made his move. They eventually got talking in a corner of the bar, yes it was still raining, and ultimately spent most of the night talking together. It was pretty apparent they shared a connection and Carolyn even extended her weekend stay to spend more time with Brian. The rest is basically history... they hit it off pretty immediately. Carolyn spent many weekends in Milford after that first night. They spent the next 3 years doing "medium" distance as Carolyn was still living with her parents in New York when they first started dating. They spent nearly every weekend together after that night - which totally seems wild considering they barely knew each other. Brian showed her all around Milford, hitting all his favorite spots. When they weren't physically together, Brian made sure to call her every day on his drive home from work, and they continued to get to know each other. Carolyn started graduate school int he fall of 2018, and Brian couldn't have been a more supportive partner as she navigated a full course load and an internship. She spent many of her weekends in Milford working on assignments and writing papers while Brian played whatever video game he was into at the time. Not only could they have fun going out together, but they could do nothing together too. Carolyn was sold. They've been through a lot together, including the pandemic in 2020 where they had to spend long stretches of time apart, often not knowing when they would see each other next. Their relationship got more serious during that time, and they talked more and more about what their future together could look like. Carolyn moved to Milford in the fall of 2021 where they got their first apartment together. There they made their first home together and added some new "firsts" to their relationship. After a year of paying waaaay too much in rent, they decided to move into Brian's parents house when their lease was up the fall of 2022. They adopted their sweet fur baby Archie after many months of negotiating and convincing Brian's dad and embarked on a new journey of owning a 6 month old pup together. Brian proposed March 2024 at Siena College, and now here we are... You're all caught up! Thanks for reading :)
