Although it seems like a lifetime ago, Ryan & I met when I had just turned 16 and he was 17. I was eager to get my first job and during my search my mom suggested, "Mrs. Tonya's son just got a job at that cafe down the road. Why don't you apply there?" One interview later and with some very stylish uniforms, we were working at our very first job. The flirting ensued and we eventually felt that it was necessary to ring people up at the register together, always standing side by side. The rest is history.
Anyone that knows us knows that we love wine. It's more of an obsession, really. When I passed my state nursing boards and when Ryan passed the Bar, we celebrated with a bottle of Opus One. In August 2015, we spent a week in San Francisco and with Napa only one hour north, we couldn't resist a couple day trips. Opus One is located in Napa and we wanted to visit since it was special to us for important moments in our lives. I had no idea Ryan had planned to incorporate this winery into the biggest moment of our lives up to date. After a personal tour of the winery, we were left to explore the cellar on our own. Ryan, who had been waiting to give me my "birthday present," had told me he was ready to give me my gift. I closed my eyes and when he told me to open them, he was on one knee. It was the perfect proposal.
