Our fairy tale started officially, when I swiped right on a picture of an adorable man one night at work! Although we do still disagree on who swiped first.

To my surprise he replied rather quickly. After an exhausting case at work, I called him on my long drive home from the Houston Medical Center. Spending a few days chatting and texting to get to know each other we decided to meet at a restaurant close to my home, Gringo’s.

I was very nervous, which was obvious by the simple fact I couldn’t stop talking, and by the second watermelon margarita, Kevin knew it as well! Kevin on the other hand was very relaxed and calm. He just kept smiling at me from across the table with those cute dimples, as I went on and on.

As the dinner came to an end and we walked to the car, I was thinking I was not ready to go home just yet, and I guess he was feeling the same. He walked up behind me to open the car door and said, “I want to break the ice” and kissed me! I was taken back by his boldness but also impressed.

We spent the next few hours shooting pool (Kevin showing off his skills, if you didn’t know he is very good at pool) and having a few drinks, laughing so much our cheeks hurt and the rest is history.

I am so blessed to have met Kevin, and for Kevin not to give up on me!!(because let’s be honest I am not a walk in the park kinda girl) I have finally met a man that is amazing and makes me feel like my happiness is important!

He does the sweetest things, like goes out of his way to meet me for lunch dates in the middle of the night just to spend time with me when I pick up extra shifts. Someone that opens my doors, holds my hand, and leaves me love notes in my lunch box.

He is my best friend and our ROCK! No matter what it is, he is there for me and Riley. We have never had someone we could depend on and that makes us feel safe. Someone that I know will take care of us or pick up the ball if I was to ever drop it.

Every day is perfect, it doesn’t matter if its steak night at the pub, shooting pool and dancing around the table, cruising the Caribbean, hitting a few golf balls or simply staying at home cooking dinner and watching a movie. The night is guaranteed to be filled with kisses, laughter and inappropriate jokes/comments.

The best part is we are just getting started. I can’t wait for more adventures and simple nights at home together. I can’t wait to grow old with him.
