All our atoms came out of the depths of stars, and coalesced over eons into many diverse strands of self-awareness. We live in wonder, and seek kindred spirits. But how can we find each other?

21st Century technology! Without OKCupid, Carrie and Jason would likely not have met.

In St. Louis in 2014, we were both in interim phases of our lives, as Carrie was finishing occupational therapy grad school, and Jason was finishing a post-doctoral research stint. Jason had been out of circulation for many years, but was ready to try enjoying new company, and the internet was the obvious way to find dates with the interesting peoples. Carrie was ready to shut down her OKCupid presence when a photo of a bright-eyed, disheveled-hair guy with a cockatiel on his shoulder caught her eye. And she decided to give one more person one more chance.

On our first date, Jason literally tumbled out of a downpour with a broken umbrella, and Carrie greeted him with an easy welcoming smile and curious sparkling green eyes.

We were comfortable and laughing right from the start. We dazzled each other with quirky charms and a synthesis of gravity and levity. (Also, attraction!)

As it turned out, both our hearts were ready again to be sparked and be warmed with a lasting glow. We're both weird and smart in our own ways, and have forged a loving bond. Professionally, we've landed jobs as a professor and an occupational therapist. Together with Beaky and Mr. Wiggles (our cockatiel buddies), we are happy to be a little flock living in the city and enjoying life together! We complement and enhance each other and are blasting into the future together as a married dyad!
