We matched on Bumble at the end of July 2021. We had our first date at Olive Garden on September 3. It was magical, it felt like we’d been friends forever. We talked and laughed until closing time. No one knew after that first date that we’d spend the rest of lives together. But it was clear we had the potential to be something great. Now let’s skip forward to July 1st 2023. Carrie came up to visit Ian in Michigan for the summer. Now if you know anything about Ian you know that he loves Michigan, specifically his time spent at Ann Arbor. Ian took his bride to be to the Nicolas Arboretum. It was a little rainy but the nature trail was beautiful. We walked down to the bench next to river. Sunlight started to stream through the trees and Ian turned to me and said he had a question for me. He got down on one knee and said “I have so many wonderful memories here and I’d like for us to have our own. Carrie, will you marry me?” We both had tears in our eyes when I said yes.
