To help in searching for a place to stay, we looked around at some of the hotels we would be happy in choosing if we were to visit the Kansas City area. We took in mind the safety of the location, the proximity to the wedding, and the value of the stay. We want our family and loved ones to be comfortable and had in mind of these choices. Feel free to browse through these suggestions!

If you are flying into KC, you would most likely fly into MCI. The Kansas City International Airport is located about 20 miles north of downtown. Super easy to navigate and full of local eats. Rideshares, taxis, and rental cars are all available on-site.

We like taking the streetcar together and think it's one of Kansas City's gems. The streetcar spans through various "zones" of KC with strategic stopovers. Keep in mind that it only spans through Main Street of KC. The KC Streetcar is a free public transportation system that allows access through downtown KC. You can travel from the River market (northmost) to the Union Station in downtown KC. As of 2025, construction is underway to expand routes to Country Club Plaza. "This modern transit option serves Union Station, the Crossroads Arts District, the Power and Light District, the city’s central business district, and the historic River Market/City Market along with numerous other businesses, restaurants, art galleries, educational facilities, and neighborhoods."

This hotel is near the plaza and 2.3 miles from the church and reception. It is also located in the Country Club Plaza, one of Kansas City's historic outdoor shopping centers. This hotel is within walking distance to the Crown Center. I grew up looking forward to going here with my family while my mom went shopping around and I got to visit the toy stores. I see the Crown Center as a family-friendly area, attached to Legoland and the Downtown Aquarium. This location provides easy access to the KC Streetcar and Union Station. We have room blocks available at a discounted rate, just click the link to reserve your room.

This location gives easy access to the KC Streetcar and Union Station. It is about 2 miles away from the church and reception.

Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown KC. Just a couple blocks away from main street, where you can access the KC Streetcar.

Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown, an IHG Hotel

I was able to tour around this hotel and was impressed with the service provided. This hotel is in close proximity to the airport and provides shuttle service to there. If you would like to stay close to the airport, this would be the ideal spot.

Dress Code: Semi-Formal, Light Spring Attire.We kindly ask our guests to dress in semi-formal attire in soft, light colors to match the romantic feel of our day. Think spring tones, flowing fabrics, and outfits you'd feel great wearing to a garden party or elegant evening. While we hope for sunshine, early spring in Kansas City can still be a bit chilly- please bring a light jacket or wrap to stay cozy!
