In October of their sophomore year of college, Carson’s fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, held its first Date-A-Delt philanthropy event. During the event, various brothers were auctioned off on dates to raise money for Helping Hands, the local crisis pregnancy organization in Hillsdale. At the insistence of her older Pi Beta Phi sisters, Merce randomly decided to attend the event. She knew a lot of her sisters were friends with the brothers, and if anything, it would just be an hour or so of entertainment. Yet when Carson Brown graced the stage to Redbones Come and Get Your Love, she immediately remembered him from her Western Heritage class (though he would later admit he didnt remember her at all). After listening to his witty responses, reading about his ideal date, which involved escaping to a tropical island to elope listening to Fly Me to the Moon, and learning about his large collection of rubber ducks, Merce considered bidding. As someone who had never been on a date and had recently spent four years at an all-girls high school, she felt that there was perhaps no better way to get one than to buy it for herself. What could be the harm? If anything, it would be a great way to make a new friend. Once she began bidding, the competition became addictive, and much to the surprise of her sorority sisters, she purchased Carson Brown for $65. A couple dates and few starry nights on the Old Delt House roof later, and the rest is history.

This airport puts you directly in the area. From here, hotels, the venue, and many other regional attractions are all in15-25 minute radius.

Akron-Canton Airport 

This airport will have more travel options. It is about an hour from the region.

Cleveland Hopkins Airport 

This hotel is directly across the street from CAK. It is right next to the highway. It is 10-15 minutes from the venue as well as the mall and other shopping centers. The Hilton Garden is offering $119 plus tax per night for King and Double Queen rooms and $169 plus tax per night for King Suites. Hilton Garden Inn Akron-Canton Airport

The Hyatt sits right by the highway. It is 10-15 minutes from all the wedding locations and sits near the mall and a plethora of restaurants. Kings rooms are $165.00 and double queen rooms at $182.00 + tax. This rate ends 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.

Hyatt Place Canton

The King Suite is locked in at $119.99. The Double Queen Suite is $129.99. The Oversized Executive King Suite comes in at $159.99. These rates are locked in until December 8, after which the block will be released.
