Our Wedding

How We Met

Marissa and Carson first met *ALMOST* a decade ago in 2017 at Elkhorn Grandview Middle School. Because they started dating before they could drive, many of their earliest dates consisted of long walks around Manchester Park, bike rides to each other's houses, and a lot of adventures together. One of the craziest included buying, renovating, and selling a 1970s camper right after High School Graduation. While it had its ups and downs, everyone around them promised, "If you can survive a renovation together...you can survive anything." After graduation, life took them to different cities for college—Carson to Omaha and Marissa to Lincoln. They quickly found their rhythm of FaceTime dates, weekend visits, and making new friends while always rooting for each other. Carson found a love for travel, visiting Germany, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, and even spending a summer interning in Georgia. Meanwhile, Marissa thrived as a homebody, always finding a new craft to do or spending time with friends, family, and most of the time her dog Zoey. By senior year of college, they had built a lifetime of adventures together, from weekend road trips, bar hopping on O-Street, cozy weekends in, to an unforgettable trip to Spain. And after 8 years together, they knew they wanted these adventures to last forever!

The Engagement

Carson proposed on August 16th, 2025, during the most beautiful summer day at Gene Leahy Mall. What Marissa thought was going to be a casual “date day” to go ring shopping turned into the sweetest surprise engagement. The plan caught her off guard — not an easy task, since she’s usually quick to pick up on things. (She later learned she almost spoiled it when Carson asked her parents for their blessing.) 	That morning, though, she had a feeling it was going to be an amazing day. As they sat on a bench overlooking the lake, they talked about what they were looking forward to most that day, when Carson asked if she wanted to “see what he was thinking.” He pulled out the ring, and it was the easiest yes of her life!

We kindly request dark colored cocktail attire for our celebration. Men are encouraged to wear a suit or jacket with trousers, and women a dress or jumpsuit. No Jeans, polos, tennis shoes, or casual attire please. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in style!

We’re so excited to welcome our family and friends to Omaha! While you’re here celebrating with us, we hope you get to experience some of our favorite spots around the city.
