Mattie and Carson’s love story started when they met in Marmarth, ND for the 4th of July Rodeo in 2020. They started talking after Carson asked Mattie to video his bull ride that day. They talked all summer and started dating on September 13, 2020, in Cody, WY during Carson's sophomore year of college and Mattie's freshman year. They spent that first year together studying, riding, and practicing. They went in different directions after their first year together. Mattie transferred to Dickinson, ND where she studied and graduated with her LPN and BSN RN, while Carson continued his education at SDSU in Brookings, SD. He graduated with a degree in Ag. Education. They dated for more than three years when Carson proposed to Mattie at her parent’s ranch in Marmarth on December 30, 2023. Together, they look forward to a life of happiness and new opportunities.
