We first crossed paths in study hall freshmen year. Thanks to a broken projector which lead to an early class dismissal, Preston was able to attend early morning study hall. As Preston was leaving study hall, a pretty smile was walking in.

"Jared, I gotta know who she is," said Preston, pointing to the pretty girl that had walked past him.

It wasn't until a year later that Preston was finally able to ask Carysse on a date. After a month of Carysse playing hard-to-get, she finally said yes to a date right before winter break.

Over winter break, Preston and Carysse met up for a few dates. At the start of the following semester, Preston knew she was the one. With increasing time spent together their relationship grew.

At the end of their sophomore year, Preston would transfer to another school 4 hours away. Despite the long distance, their relationship continued to flourish. Upon graduation, Preston and Carysse both accepted jobs in Grand Rapids, Michigan, moved to Michigan, and shortly after got engaged.
