In His Words...

"Hi, I'm Casey. How are you?"&nbsp;That is how it all started.&nbsp;Noah and Casey met in June of 2017 on Match.com. It took a few tentative days of chatting online before he worked up the courage to ask if she would like to go out on a date. I mean hey, this is a girl who reached out first, she's something special. Later that week they met at the Detroit Hopcat and had dinner. Time just seemed to fly by, they sat&nbsp;just talking about *whatever* and before they knew it, almost 4 hours had passed. It took less than a week before they had their second date, and by then Noah was hooked. Despite work schedules that almost seemed purpose-built to only let them see each other once a week, Noah could never wait for Thursday to come (Date Night!).Over the 3 years since then, they’ve bonded over their love of Musicals, chilly Saturday nights at the Big House (or if you ask Casey, ‘warm Saturday afternoons at the Big House’), and cheesy Reality TV shows. November of 2019, Noah surprised Casey with an engagement ring at the same place they had taken their first real picture as a couple; the Christmas Tree at Campus Martias. She told him to “Shut the f**k up”. A couple times, in the best way possible. And then, of course she said ‘Yes”. Noah wouldn’t have it any other way!We’re so happy to be able to share this day with you, and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together!

In Her Words...

According to Noah I was the one to send the first message on Match.com- I didn’t believe him (that didn’t sound like me) until one day he went through his old emails and found proof (of course)…so I guess I did.&nbsp;After a week of talking he asked me to meet for dinner, and it was at this moment I realized he had not told me his first name yet- his profile had his standard “raumiester” screenname on it.&nbsp;To be safe, I went back through our messages to make sure I hadn’t just forgotten it, and I was right- he hadn’t told me his name.&nbsp;So after learning his name and doing a quick Google/Facebook search to make sure he wasn’t a serial killer, I accepted.&nbsp;We met at HopCat in Detroit since it was right across from my office at the time and I remember when I walked in and saw him I instantly thought “oh good, he looks nice”.&nbsp;We had a great dinner and by the time we were getting ready to leave it had started to rain…HARD.&nbsp;Noah offered to go to his car to grab his umbrella to walk me to my car and I remember thinking that was such a nice gesture- not many guys do things like that these days.&nbsp;After about a month of sporadic dates to dinner, the Pig &amp; Whiskey Festival, bowling, and mini golf he asked me to be official (complete with finger guns) and I obviously said yes.&nbsp;My dog, Kali, loved him pretty much instantly- I’m convinced he’s the favorite over me!&nbsp;Over the past 3+ years we have traveled to the Upper Peninsula, Los Angeles, Myrtle Beach, on a Caribbean cruise, and Kansas City.&nbsp;We have seen many Broadway shows (Hamilton twice!), concerts, and Michigan football games together.Then on November 24, 2019, everything changed when Noah took me to downtown Detroit with some friends to go ice skating at Campus Martius.&nbsp;After skating for a bit we stopped to get our picture taken in front of the big Christmas tree and that’s when Noah gave me the shock of a lifetime- he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.&nbsp;I had no idea this was going to happen.&nbsp;We had talked about it, I had told him what kind of rings I liked, and given him VERY strict instructions to A. talk to my dad ahead of time and B. get my sister, Holly, to approve of the ring if I wasn’t picking it out myself- and I figured sometime in the next six months or so this would happen, but I had no idea it would happen when it did.&nbsp;My response to him was this: “STFU!, Did you talk to my Dad?, STFU!, STFU!, Yes!”…maybe not my classiest moment, but it was definitely genuine and I think my utter shock was evident.&nbsp;And now here we are, planning our wedding and what other memories we hope to make for the rest of our lives!

Our Story

Holly is Casey's younger sister and unofficial wedding planner.  She lives in Kansas City and works for a bridal design company.  Casey and Holly have seen Taylor Swift in concert together 4 times (5 once Lover Fest is rescheduled!)- but Casey's favorite memory is when she flew down to Kansas City to go with Holly to pick up her puppy (and Casey's nephew), Chip.

Holly Bazarewski

Will and Noah met at preschool in their hometown of Holly.  Over more than 20 years, they've built a friendship that has stood the test of time: through the awkwardness of middle school, AP classes in high school, countless hours passing the PS3 controller late into the night, and even a 500 mile separation when they went to college.

Jessica and Casey met at the beginning of their freshman year at Western Michigan and they lived together during their senior year.  Jessica finally moved back to Michigan from Memphis about a year ago and works in business.  Casey was Jessica’s Maid of Honor for her wedding.  When Jessica lived in Memphis, she and Casey had a tradition of going for midnight Coney Dogs whenever she flew home!

Noah met Alex in his time at Michigan Tech. As fraternity brothers, they've spent a lot of downtime together between  movie and video game nights at the Triangle House, and countless D&D sessions in the past few years. Despite being the 'young one', he's always been an excellent source of stories and advice!

Alex Ott

Alanah is Noah's younger sister and she is a special education teacher in Ionia.  Alanah has been so welcoming to Casey from the very beginning and they often tease each other about going to Central/Western (Go Broncos!).  Casey's favorite memory with Alanah is the Christmas cruise they went on with her extended family.

Jerry and Noah met as they were both joining Triangle in the fall of 2013. They both froze their way through dozens of hours of Snow Statue  for Winter Carnival- Noah best remembers his senior year All-Nighter when Jerry almost fell off our 20ft tall 'Aztec Pyramid'.

Laura has been an honorary Bazarewski since she lived across the courtyard from Casey during high school. She works for a property management company and also at her family’s restaurant.  Laura, Casey, and Holly have gone on vacation together to LA and they're always laughing when they're together!

Noah and Danny have been roommates for the past 3 years, and have been buddies since they met at Tech in 2010.  Danny's Brother-in-Law was Noah's first RA at Tech! They have years of shared love of hockey and robots, and spend a lot of time talking (arguing) about both.

Casey and Noah are both animal lovers and consider pets to be members of the family, so they think it's only right that their big day is shared with some very special family pups!

Casey rescued Kali in March 2014 from a shelter near Western Michigan and is named for the city she's from (Kalamazoo). She is a mix of about 8 different breeds and is also known to act like a cat. Kali asked Noah to officially adopt her during their engagement photo shoot, and of course he was happy to say yes.

Brady is the Bazarewski family dog and Kali's best friend. Brady is a big teddy bear who loves nothing more than to be around his humans, preferably cuddled up on the couch with blankets and pillows. He loves to meet new people and is more interested in the humans than the other dogs at the dog park.

Chip is Casey's nephew, and as a part of the family he could not be left out from the big day! Casey even flew down to Kansas City to go with Holly to pick him up on his Gotcha Day. Chip is a high energy, good boy who loves to swim and play fetch.

Goose (back) and Maverick (front) were adopted by Casey and Noah in July 2020. Unfortunately they will be unable to attend the special day in person but will be celebrating at home- probably by knocking things over or lounging in their cat tower.

Shuttle service to the ceremony will begin approximately 1.5 hours before the ceremony and constant trips back to the hotel will run from approximately 8pm - 12pm.Seating is limited to 25 people per trip, so please plan to take a shuttle to the ceremony early.
