Casey and Roy first met in college when mutual friends at UMass Amherst introduced them in an effort to start a co-ed intramural soccer team. Sadly, the team never made it into fruition, so Roy and Casey went a year without seeing each other (which is not as hard as it seems based on UMass' huge student population).

Junior year, they bumped into each other at a party, and after Roy tried to play it cool when Casey clearly didn't remember him, she thought he was charming. Timing interfered again though when they soon-thereafter left for winter break and Casey then jutted off to Spain for a spring semester abroad. Luckily, Casey and Roy ran into each other once more towards the end of senior year, and began staying in touch.

Post-graduation, Casey and Roy's conversations started increasing in frequency little by little, before Roy finally asked Casey out in January 2018. The pair went bowling where each of them, both competitive in nature, tried to best the other. Outside of the game, the two hit it off and finally began seeing each other. Though they both lived with their parents in different cities, were beginning new jobs and had many various commitments, Roy and Casey were excited to see each other and met for more action-packed dates such as ice skating (which may have caused an injury allowing Roy to flex his EMT skills), playing soccer, and brewing their own beer.

The two bonded based on their sense of humor, family values and shared interests, and over time had many more adventures together, traveling to destinations like Puerto Rico, Dallas, Chicago, Savannah, Charleston, and many New England gems.

When Roy bought a condo in Brighton (much to Casey's excitement after him living with his parents), she moved in with him the following year.

During COVID, the two began frequenting the Charles Rives esplanade, both for walks and picnics, which soon became their "spot" for sunny day lounging. To commemorate this time, Roy chose this spot to propose to Casey in February of 2023. Shortly after, the newly engaged couple jetted off on their biggest trip yet, to London, Paris and Dublin, before returning home to plan their wedding. Roy and Casey look forward to their life of adventures together.
