Casey and Tim first met at Penn State. Both were in the Penn State Marching Blue Band and through some mutual friends ended up playing in a ska band together. Although they did not date at the time they were always leading the dancing on stage at gigs and making sure everyone was having a great time. They remained close friends after college and would regularly get together to go to the movies and catch up with college friends.

Casey and Tim's first date was a trip to the theater to see the latest Marvel movie that had released. They were supposed to go with a group of friends, but the others were not able to make it. At the time neither of them were quite sure if it was officially a date or not. Tim happened to be wearing khaki pants to that movie, which

Casey considered "date-like" attire, and from that point on Tim became known as "khaki pants" to Casey's close friends. Although this may have been their first date they really would not start dating for another few years.

About 5 years after the khaki pants date, Casey was celebrating the success of her high school's musical with the rest of the musical staff when she realized she should have invited Tim to come see it. At that point Casey considered why she and Tim hadn't dated prior to that and wondered if it would be worth a shot! She wanted to send him a text, but didn't know what to say, so her friends tag teamed with one writing the message and another pressing send. Tim was excited as he had been planning to ask her out the following week, and he replied yes!

For Christmas of 2023 Casey and Tim were planning to host their annual Christmas party with friends. Tim put in some overtime getting the house ready the week leading up to the party so that they could have an excuse to go on a movie date night before the busy holiday rush. They went to go see a movie and enjoyed dinner at Casey's favorite restaurant in the King of Prussia town center where she used to live. Before heading back to the car Tim proposed to Casey near the dazzling Christmas tree with the ring box wrapped as a present that happened to perfectly match Casey's shoes. She said yes!
