Fun Facts About the Bride and Groom

The First Time Emmy Saw Casey

The first time that Emmy saw Casey, she opened her dorm room door to yell at the individual who was playing loud music in the middle of the night. She did not expect to see a 6'5" man, in a towel, holding a portable speaker. Needless to say, she quickly shut the door. The joys of Co-Ed dorms. About a month later, Casey and Emmy met each other.

Our First Date....

Our first date wasn't supposed to be a date. It was intended to be a group trip to see the new Star Wars movie. When Casey discovered that Emmy had never seen ANY of the Star Wars movies, he about lost his mind. He insisted that we had to watch as many as possible before the movies that night. By the time we needed to leave, everyone else who was supposed to be going, canceled.

The Disagreement

If you ask both Emmy and Casey, you will get 2 very different answers about how their relationship started...

Emmy thinks Casey is wrong, and Casey thinks that Emmy is wrong. After years of disagreeing about this story, neither will give in. This stubbornness will never go away. We encourage you to ask at the wedding.

The Proposal

In January of 2023, Emmy had a very good idea that Casey was thinking of proposing (she can even tell you the exact day he went to get the ring). Leading up to their trip though, she tried to deny the idea that it was going to happen on the trip. The day that Casey proposed, they went to the aquarium in Pairs, drank hot chocolate at a cafe, climbed the Eiffel Tower (85 floors), ate icecream at the top of the Eiffel Tower, ate crepes, went on a river cruise, and stuck around until the lights turned on. Casey and his mom, Darla, had been passing the ring back and forth all day. Of course, Emmy was too oblivious and distracted to have any idea. When it came time to propose, Emmy was tired and ready to head back to the hotel. Casey kept insisting that they needed to get a good picture (with hopefully no people in the background) in front of the Eiffel Tower.
